Director of Sales/General Manager Job Overview
BASIC PURPOSE
The Sales Manager will be responsible for finding and securing revenue for the property, as well as assisting with all sales functions as directed by the
GM/DOS FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
DAILY/WEEKLY
AND OR MONTHLY TASKS MAY INCLUDE
Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients. Participate in daily stand-up meeting / manager's meeting Conduct site inspections Cultivate and book business from existing and new accounts in assigned market through sales calls, telemarketing, sales trips, internet prospecting and personal contact. Prepare and submit all weekly and monthly sales reports as required. Assist in development and preparation of special mailing, promotions etc. to enhance hotel business. Participate in weekly sales meetings and other in-house meetings as required. Participate in sales blitzes, trade shows, fam trips and community organizations to increase recognition within the industry. Conduct competitive surveys of other hotels and review all current market trends. Assist in the preparation of the marketing plan as required. Send out property critiques to recently departed groups to solicit feedback & rebook Complete VIP gift baskets and welcome gifts as needed Complete and E-Mail Weekly Sales Summary as needed/directed Review end of month LNR & Group tracking reports, SOB Variance and Final Pace Reports for the month Update Marketing Plan with Previous Month's final Pace and SOB Reports. Review packages sold on brand website ensure items for packages are available for GSAs Completing Monthly Sales Strategies Review and update brand website (photos, packages, amenities, etc.) Review and update 3rd party websites for proper amenities, pictures, driving directions, etc. Must be willing to assist in other departments as the needs of the property arise, and as directed by a supervisor
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Education:
College degree with a sales and marketing emphasis preferred
Experience:
Experience in hospitality sales required, Hilton brand experience preferred.
ENVIRONMENT
Physical Job Requirements Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying:
Position does not require a great deal of lifting/pushing/pulling or carrying, aside from the normal functions required in an office setting
Bending/Kneeling:
Functions of this job includes a minimal amount of bending, stooping and kneeling during the course of a shift.
Mobility:
Total mobility is required, with outside sales visits, property tours and competitive set driving occurring at the direction of the
GM/DOS Standing/Walking:
Position may include a normal amount of standing and walking during the course of a shift
Climbing Stairs:
May require climbing of moderate amount of stairs
Hearing/Vision/Speech:
One-on-one communication with guests, supervisors, and coworkers is critical Must be able to receive, understand and give directions within the Sales Department Must be able to clearly communicate property, company and contract information to clients Must have exceptional written and verbal skills, as well as ability to compose professional and articulate emails and written communication Must be able to understand, compile and submit reports in an efficient manner

DOS Hours Required:
Scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Managers are expected to put in additional hours above and beyond a standard 40 hour work week in order to complete the tasks required, lend assistance and support to the department, and assist with coverage throughout the hotel as may be needed. Must adhere to the time and attendance policies set forth by the company
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
