Generates interests in land development on airport property and grow air service by meeting with airlines and creating presentations for airline review. Manage airport communications, both internally and externally. Manages resources to accomplish the various tasks associated with the position. Manages public relations efforts through ongoing outreach to customers, tenants, business partners, and potential airport users in a way that creates a positive image for the airport. Creates timely and accurate public information for the public and media, including news releases, newsletters, public events, news conferences, talking points, social media content, and other communication tactics as needed. Works cooperatively with the media, airport departments, and the public in both routine and emergency situations. Works closely with all communication divisions, including public safety, parking agents, public information, and the customer call center. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities
- Assist Director Leadership with Airport Air Service Development activities
- Meet with Airlines, research trends in market, prepare analysis, make presentations, monitor airfare, and communicate community needs to airline planners
- Develop, manage and direct marketing plans designed to expand and sustain the airport
- Create and administer advertising strategy to include researching viable advertising options for delivering message to targeted audience
- Must consider cost, intended demographics, and the likelihood that the message will encourage the recipients to take action
- Must manage internal and external resources that are necessary to accomplish goals
- Manage In Terminal Advertising program and contract
- Creates content for communication initiatives for the City including high profile issues, communication/marketing plans, advertising placement, emergency management, and employee communications
- Includes highly visible public campaigns and education initiatives
- Includes daily submission of content for editorial calendar
- Handle customer service issues that arise on Airport property
- Coordinate response to customer issues that often involve airlines, other airport tenants and service providers
- Work with tenants to resolve issues that are brought to the attention of airport managers
- Participate in projects that will have an impact on the customer experience at CCIA.
- Conduct both internal and external research and data mining activities that are required for future planning of land, business and retail development on airport property
- This includes tenant and customer surveys and the interpretation of the information
- Survey results and data are necessary to help ensure customers satisfaction and encourage new business at the airport
- Prepare and deliver public presentations and represent Airport interests at civic, tourism, general business and community events
- Serves as the Airports representative on the Convention Visitors
- Bureau Marketing Committee and/or other industry leadership roles as may be needed
- Handling media inquiries and interviews about air service, Airport operations, FAA projects, security and sustainability, emergencies and threats to airport or aviation in general
- Craft messages that reflect true and accurate depiction of Airport related activity in news releases, magazine articles
- Manage Airport website content and all social media interaction with customers
- Participates, creates, and provides content for content editorial calendar across communication channels including web, social media, print and video. Proactively prepares content for newsletters, brochures, communication plans, etc.
- Builds and oversees Marketing and PR Budget. Reviews and approves expenditures, manage contracts, and submitting related paperwork following City policies and procedures
- Coordinate and drive ongoing strategic planning efforts, as needed, for marketing, social media, advertising, and community relations
- Responsible for writing documents and other lengthy airport documents that are requested by other agencies
- Coordinate and direct the work of volunteers and interns who are assigned to the airport
- To include monitoring workload and work schedule
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned Position Type and Typical Hours of Work Exempt - Full-Time Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.
- Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) - Preferably in Communication, Business Administration, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- Four (4) years of experience - preferably in Marketing, Professional Writing, and social media content Certifications and Additional Requirements
NIMS 100, 200, 700 & 800
- Basic knowledge in FAA Part 139 and
TSA 1542
- Airport access control media identification required upon hiring and throughout employment
- Ability to get American Association of Airport Executives Certified Member accreditation within 2 years of employment Required
- A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire Employment Testing Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:
