Job Description
Summary Thrivent is a faith-based, not-for-profit financial services organization with approximately 2.6 million members. Thrivent has independent financial services practices across the nation, one being Apex Financial Group. In 2008, a group of financial advisors in Manitowoc, WI, formed Thrivent's West Shore Team. It was renamed Apex Financial Group in 2019 when five Financial Advisors came together with a vision to better serve clients and the community by utilizing each other's God-given talents. Our practice continues to grow, and we now have multiple branches in several cities with a well-rounded team of individuals ready to assist our members navigate their financial future. At Apex Financial Group, we have our own operations team, including a Member Care Team, Wealth Management Team, Marketing and Events Team, and a Business Support Team. The Marketing Manager reports to and is employed by Apex Financial Group/Psalm 121 LLC. Job Description Position Roles/Responsibilities/Accountabilities This position provides leadership for our Marketing and Events Team (MET) at Apex Financial Group. Handles incoming department phone calls and responds to requests for information Serves as primary point of contact for venues and event vendors; coordinates logistics, timelines, and on-site needs Prepares and/or coordinates the preparation of routine correspondence, reports, and special projects typically of a routine nature Attend events to greet clients/be first point of contact when members/clients arrive at events Supports administration of various programs, and processing functions as needed Oversee practice social media Maintain practice website Networks and plans/coordinates events and workshops for advisors and their clients Coordinate overall marketing strategy for the practice Guide training and support staff growth Manage and supervise department employee's worked hours, records, and conduct annual reviews Ensure department coverage and deadlines met Administer and develop department projects, workflows, and processes Assist in hiring and onboarding Ensure legal compliance followed Assist in keeping record of department costs Leads weekly team meetings, including agenda creation, facilitation, follow-ups, and action-item tracking Manage Thrivent Community events in partnership with Community Engagement Leaders, including planning, promotion, and execution Position Qualifications Previous administrative/secretarial experience desired Strong technical computer aptitude and knowledge of business tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or ability to learn Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain a high quality of work while experiencing frequent interruptions Ability to maintain integrity of sensitive/confidential information Basic understanding of <>, our products and services, and Thrivent Financial Competencies Planning/Organizing Customer Focus Communication Interpersonal Skills Teamwork and Collaboration Adaptability/Flexibility External/Internal Dependencies Strong attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Event planning experience Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Professional, relationship-focused approach; able to collaborate effectively across teams Experience managing, coaching, and developing staff Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and follow through Ability to maintain integrity of sensitive/confidential information Problem-solving skills Benefits Compensation is $45-55,000 annually dependent upon experience 401(k) with a 3% employer non-elective contribution Flexibility Potential for Annual Bonus Paid holidays Paid time off Parental Leave Floating holidays As part of Apex Financial Group's recruiting/hiring/contracting process, a verification of a candidate's background will be made to complete the hiring/contracting process.
