Job Description

Position Summary The Marketing Director leads the bank's marketing strategy and builds a customer-focused marketing function that supports growth, strengthens the brand, and improves the customer experience. During the initial phase, the Director will be both a strategic leader and a hands-on contributor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategy and leadership
  • Develop and manage a 24- to 36-month strategic marketing plan aligned with the bank's strategic plan, competitive strategy, growth goals, and digital strategy.
  • Lead an organization-wide marketing planning process for Consumer and Business banking and translate priorities into annual plans, budgets, timelines, and measurable results.
  • Build and lead the Phase One marketing team and recommend future staffing, resources, and capabilities as the function grows.
  • Partner with lending, retail, operations, technology, finance, compliance, and executive leadership to coordinate marketing priorities and execution. Customer and brand management
  • Identify and prioritize high-value consumer and small- to mid-sized business market segments.
  • Establish, manage, and protect the bank's market position and brand.
  • Lead customer-experience planning and help establish the processes and service practices needed to deliver a consistent, superior experience. Marketing execution and measurement
  • Oversee advertising, promotions, communications, public relations, digital marketing, market research, product management, targeted marketing, and campaign measurement.
  • Lead the bank's digital marketing efforts, including the website, social media, content marketing, search engine optimization, and emerging channels.
  • Use customer, product, campaign, and market data to improve segmentation, personalization, product decisions, and targeted marketing.
  • Establish performance measures for acquisition, retention, product growth, customer experience, revenue contribution, and return on investment.
  • Manage the marketing budget and maintain a strong focus on revenue generation while supporting compliance, brand standards, and long-term customer relationships. Leadership and Working Relationships
  • Influence decisions and build alignment across the organization, including where the position does not have direct authority.
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning groups and executive discussions that turn strategy into action.
  • Partner closely with Compliance on all marketing activities and applicable banking requirements.
  • Manage external agencies, vendors, research partners, and technology providers as needed. Qualifications Education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, finance, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered.
  • Progressively responsible marketing experience that includes both strategic and tactical marketing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives, budgets, projects, and measurable growth or customer outcomes.
  • Financial-services or other highly regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with customer segmentation, CRM or MCIF tools, digital marketing, market research, product management, and performance measurement preferred. Required capabilities
  • Strong leadership, people-management, project-management, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal judgment and the ability to influence without relying on formal authority.
  • Ability to analyze and apply data, manage budgets and vendors, and use marketing technology effectively.
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing in financial services.
  • Collaborative, innovative, assertive, process-oriented, and results-oriented. Measures of Success
  • Execution of an approved strategic marketing roadmap and organization-wide planning process.
  • Measurable improvement in acquisition, retention, product growth, customer experience, and revenue contribution.
  • Improved use of customer data, campaign tracking, and return-on-investment reporting.
  • Consistent delivery of the bank brand and development of a marketing function that can scale with the bank.
Supervisory Responsibility The Marketing Director is expected to lead the Phase One marketing function. The Director will also lead cross-functional teams and manage external resources. The structure may be phased based on bank priorities, budget, and growth.
