With over 40 million monthly active users, our flagship platform delivers highly personalized local news and information powered by advanced AI, recommendation systems, and adtech. Recognized by Fast Company as #32 on the Top Workplaces for Innovators, we're proud to be Great Place to Work® certified and home to a dynamic team of technologists, product innovators, and business leaders who are passionate about solving meaningful challenges at scale. Together, we reached unicorn status in 2021, and we remain committed to continuing this high-growth trajectory with the right team to fulfill our mission: building the infrastructure layer for content intelligence. If you're inspired to dream big, innovate fast, and make a difference, we'd love to hear from you! For more information, visit www.newsbreak.com/about The Role This is a hands-on, 01 marketing role spanning brand strategy, product marketing, B2B marketing and consumer marketing. You'll own brand strategy and positioning across NewsBreak, NDot AI and Nearby AI, with a primary focus on B2B marketing for NDot AI and Nearby AI, and responsibility for B2C brand and consumer marketing for NewsBreak and Nearby AI. You'll translate that strategy into websites, product positioning, GTM materials, campaigns, content and thought leadership that drive awareness, customer acquisition and user growth. You should be equally comfortable defining company and product positioning, developing B2B and B2C campaigns, writing compelling messaging and content, and personally driving key launches and marketing assets — while partnering closely with Product, GTM, PR/Comms and business leaders. This role is not primarily focused on performance marketing or paid user acquisition.
Location:
Mountain View, CA What You'll Do Build and own the brand and messaging architecture across NewsBreak, NDot AI and Nearby AI, with distinct audiences, value propositions, proof points and calls to action for each. Translate that architecture into websites and core GTM materials, including sales decks/one-pagers, launch messaging and reusable proof points. Build and manage a content calendar across all three businesses — customer stories, product launches, industry insights, executive content and events — and track what drives engagement and customer interest. Grow NewsBreak's consumer brand story around local life beyond news, carrying it consistently across the website, campaigns, PR/comms and other consumer-facing surfaces. Make NDot AI more visible and credible with publishers by turning customer results into case studies and proof points, improving the website and content, and tailoring materials for priority publisher segments. Build provider-facing B2B marketing for Nearby AI's home-services network alongside a consumer brand for homeowners, with positioning, campaigns and content that support trust, acquisition and partnerships. Support major launches, events, industry moments and PR/comms across all three businesses. Build a repeatable marketing engine and operating cadence — launches, campaigns, customer stories, thought leadership, sales enablement — that scales across multiple businesses without becoming a centralized bottleneck. Partner closely with Product, GTM, PR/Comms and business leaders to turn capabilities and customer outcomes into a clear external narrative. Job Requirements Director/Senior Director-level experience in brand marketing, product marketing or B2B/platform marketing. A track record of owning positioning and category narrative, and personally driving major product or platform launches. Experience marketing business-facing products — to advertisers, publishers, creators, merchants, developers or enterprise customers — from inside a major consumer platform (e.g., Google/YouTube, Meta, Amazon/AWS, TikTok, Apple) or a dual-audience platform/marketplace (e.g., LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, Spotify, DoorDash, Uber, Airbnb, Yelp, Nextdoor). Enterprise/platform marketing experience (e.g., Adobe, Salesforce, Snowflake, Databricks, Stripe, Shopify, Twilio/Segment, Cloudflare) also qualifies, ideally with some consumer or marketplace exposure. Hands-on ownership of messaging, website copy, sales collateral, campaigns and content — this is a builder role, not a strategy-only or agency-directing one. Experience working closely with Product, Sales/GTM and customers to shape go-to-market. Demonstrated ability to operate with a bias for action in a 01 or fast-changing environment, without full structure or resources in place. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the executive presence to influence senior stakeholders. Deep B2B/product marketing expertise, combined with strong brand instincts and meaningful experience marketing to consumer audiences. Ability to work across both B2B and consumer marketing audiences. Nice to Have Background in PR/comms, events or community-building, organic audience growth, or SEO. Experience in media/publishing, adtech/martech, AI or consumer-platform companies. Experience marketing across multiple brands, or combining B2B and consumer brand work. Comfort with AI-enabled content workflows. CPRA Privacy Notice for California Candidates
