Communications Strategist and Systems Builder

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church

General responsibilities: To help St. Stephen's build up its online presence so that it can share its welcoming message of love with those who are looking for it.

Specific responsibilities:

Update our website to reflect our current practices

Create and incorporate videos into our website

Train staff and lay leaders on how to regularly update the website

Create a brand/tone to be used across all platforms

Create a communications plan

Create a system for regularly communicating announcements inside and outside of the church

Create templates for enewsletters, announcements, and written fliers

Coordinate a team of volunteers to help with taking pictures and videos regularly and a system for how to store and post such materials

Design and implement a plan for social media and train staff and volunteers on how best to use it

Other projects as may be needed

Qualifications:

• A person of faith, able to articulate their own faith journey and questions
• Experience in website design, familiarity with Squarespace
• Experience with various forms of social media
• Experience supervising or working with volunteers
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Creativity and vision for program building
• Familiarity with the Episcopal church is preferred

Hours worked:

This job is a limited contracted position, with an average of 10 hours per week for up to 6 months.

Compensation:

$30-$40 per hour
