4 The Westport Library has great stories to tell, and the Content & Communications Lead helps tell them across email, web and story-driven media. We're recruiting for a writer-strategist to turn our programs, campaigns, and community moments into content people read: emails they open, pages that convert, and stories that make the case for why what the Library does matters. What you'll own: Accountability for the Library's e-mail marketing program including bi-weekly and monthly email blasts, tentpole blasts and one of promotions plus building and maintaining list segmentation.
Story-driven media materials:
event features, Impact Stories, and press outreach. Building, updating and optimizing event landing pages in WordPress, including copy, image assets, metadata, and SEO tags. Tracking and reporting on campaign and website performance (email, landing pages, ticketing) using Google Analytics and related tools. What you bring Proven copywriting and email/digital marketing experience, with hands-on ActiveCampaign and WordPress chops including list segmentation, list hygiene, and link/UTM tracking. Working SEO knowledge and a data-driven approach to what you write.
Sharp organization:
you can run a ~30 event/month pipeline without missing a beat. Strong writing and editing skills, with demonstrated ability to write story-driven media materials, email copy, and landing page content. Working knowledge of SEO, including keyword research and on-page optimization. Experience with WordPress required; experience with Event Tickets Pro, The Events Calendar Pro, and Promoter strongly preferred. Proficient with Google and Microsoft platforms. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator, written and verbal. Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related field (or 4 years of equivalent experience). Nonprofit, cultural institution, or library experience a plus.
