Field Marketing Specialist Drecisco | Marengo, IL | Field-Based Full-Time, Non-Exempt | $22.00-$27.00 per hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends based on events and business needs About Drecisco Drecisco is an Illinois-based craft cannabis company dedicated to producing high-quality cannabis products through innovation, quality, and strategic partnerships. Our growing portfolio includes internally developed brands and manufacturing partnerships, allowing us to bring a diverse range of products to the Illinois cannabis market. Position Overview The Field Marketing Specialist supports the execution of Drecisco's field and retail marketing strategy throughout Illinois. Working closely with the Marketing Manager and Sales team, this position is responsible for in-store brand execution, retailer relationships, budtender education, merchandising, promotional programs, and consumer-facing events. This is a hands-on, field-based position requiring regular travel to dispensaries and events throughout Illinois. The Field Marketing Specialist serves as a direct representative of Drecisco and its brands and is expected to maintain a professional, knowledgeable, and compliant presence in the market. Key Responsibilities Field Marketing & Retail Execution Execute approved in-store marketing programs, promotions, displays, and merchandising across assigned retail accounts. Maintain product displays and marketing materials in accordance with established brand standards. Conduct regular account visits to evaluate brand presence, identify needs, and support retail partners. Support product launches and other retail marketing initiatives. Document field activity and provide feedback on execution, retailer needs, consumer response, and competitive activity. Retail & Budtender Relationships Build and maintain positive working relationships with dispensary management, staff, and budtenders. Serve as a field marketing contact for assigned retail accounts and coordinate needs with the Marketing Manager and Sales team. Conduct approved product education and budtender training on Drecisco brands, products, promotions, and key selling points. Gather feedback from retail partners and communicate relevant information internally. Promotions & Incentive Programs Execute approved budtender and retail incentive programs. Maintain accurate records of program participation and results. Coordinate promotional materials and program requirements with participating accounts. Ensure incentive and promotional activities remain consistent with company policy and applicable cannabis regulations. Events & Activations Support the planning and execution of dispensary pop-ups, consumer activations, industry events, and company events. Coordinate event logistics, materials, equipment, setup, and breakdown. Represent Drecisco and its brands professionally at events and retail activations. Maintain accurate schedules and communicate event requirements to the appropriate internal teams. Marketing Materials & Swag Coordinate the distribution of approved marketing materials, displays, and promotional items. Track field inventory and communicate replenishment needs to the Marketing Manager. Ensure materials used in the field are current, approved, and consistent with brand standards. Sales & Marketing Collaboration Work closely with Marketing and Sales to align field activity with account priorities, product launches, and sales objectives. Communicate retailer feedback, market observations, competitive activity, and potential opportunities. Maintain accurate records of account visits, activities, trainings, and follow-up items within HubSpot or other designated systems. Compliance Ensure field marketing activities, promotional materials, events, and communications comply with applicable Illinois cannabis regulations and company policies. Use only approved marketing materials, messaging, promotions, and product information. Escalate compliance questions or concerns before proceeding with an activity when appropriate. Schedule & Availability The standard schedule for this position is Monday through Friday . Because this is a field marketing role supporting dispensaries, events, pop-ups, and consumer activations, flexibility outside of normal business hours is an expected part of the position. Occasional evening, early morning, and weekend work will be required based on scheduled events, retailer availability, activations, travel, and other business needs. When work outside the employee's normal schedule is required, scheduling will be coordinated in advance whenever reasonably possible. The position requires regular travel throughout Illinois, and daily schedules may vary based on account and event needs. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in field marketing, brand marketing, event coordination, cannabis retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or a related role preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to independently manage a field schedule. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with retail partners. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on execution and follow-through. Comfortable representing multiple brands and communicating product information. Experience with HubSpot or another CRM platform preferred. Proficiency with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Comfortable using technology and learning new marketing and reporting systems. Ability to travel regularly throughout Illinois to retail locations and events. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Must meet all requirements applicable to employment within the Illinois cannabis industry. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly travel between retail locations and events. Ability to stand for extended periods during events and activations. Ability to transport, set up, and break down marketing displays, promotional materials, and event supplies. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
