Job Description

Content Strategist University Marketing & Communications Full-Time University Marketing and Communications at Southeast Missouri State University seeks a creative and efficient storyteller with strong copywriting instincts who can craft compelling content. The content strategist is responsible for developing a clear strategy for inspiring and engaging the audience and communicating the brand story across multiple channels. The strategist then measures and analyzes results and engagement to refine what's working and what isn't with regard to the brand's content marketing efforts. Primary Responsibilities Write effective email marketing content, including e-newsletters, automated communication workflows, and SMS, that guides users through defined journeys and results in marketing conversions Develop compelling stories and messages that attract and grow a digital audience online and in publications while following brand standards and communication style guidelines Work closely with key stakeholders within the University's colleges, divisions, and departments to develop communications that strategically target audiences, including prospective students, parents, alumni, and media Write and create effective landing pages to improve search engine optimization Monitor and analyze key metrics to improve digital communications and performance Enthusiastically collaborate with team members to achieve University goals and create effective campaigns Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, journalism, public relations, English, or related field Demonstrated experience writing for compelling stories within brand voice Solid understanding of marketing and media channels and how to strategize and message effectively at different stages in the sales funnel Excellent communication skills Demonstrated excellent creative and idea generation skills An impeccable eye for detail, proofreading, and editing skills Evidence of organizational skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines Collaborative working style with a focus on building relationships across teams and promoting content best practices Ability to use email marketing platforms to design and create communications
