Community Events Marketing Team Part-Time Event Staff | $15 per hour HAWKs (Hiking Adventures With Kids) Lake Norman is looking for a friendly, dependable person to help represent our outdoor adventure camp programs at community events throughout the Lake Norman area. This is a hands-on, public-facing role—not a marketing strategy position. Your primary job will be to welcome families to the HAWKs booth, engage children with simple games and crafts, and help parents learn about our camps and programs. About HAWKs HAWKs stands for Hiking Adventures With Kids . We provide outdoor adventure programs that help children build confidence, curiosity, friendships, and a stronger connection with the natural world. HAWKs Charlotte-Lake Norman serves families throughout the northern Charlotte and Lake Norman communities. What You'll Do Greet families and create a welcoming, energetic booth experience. Play games and lead simple crafts or activities with children while their parents or caregivers remain present. Start conversations with parents and explain HAWKs camps and programs using a simple, provided overview. Help interested families join our email list or find additional program information. Set up and break down tents, tables, signage, games, crafts, and other event materials. Take occasional photos or short videos of the booth and event. Transport event materials when assigned. Represent HAWKs professionally and positively in the community. Depending on the event, you may work alongside the owners, with another Educator or team member, or you may staff the booth independently. Schedule This is an ongoing, part-time W-2 position with a variable, as-needed schedule. There are no guaranteed minimum hours. Most shifts are approximately two to four hours and occur during: Weekend daytime events Some weekend/weekday evenings Occasional weekday daytime events Weekend availability is required. Event schedules will be provided as far in advance as reasonably possible. What We're Looking For The right person will be: Warm, energetic, and comfortable interacting with children. Comfortable approaching parents and starting friendly conversations. Able to learn and confidently explain a simple overview of HAWKs programs. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently when needed. Comfortable working outdoors and standing for several hours. Willing to travel to events throughout Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville, and the surrounding Lake Norman area. Prior experience working with children, families, camps, community events, recreation programs, or customer service is preferred but not required.
