This marketing specialist is central to the University's ability to protect its brand and reputation to internal and external stakeholders. The position impacts the University's ability to attract and retain students; promote the institution's successful outcomes and philanthropic efforts and contribute to ongoing efforts to stakeholders in programs that support student, faculty and staff satisfaction.Job Overview:
The University of Toledo is seeking a strategic marketing and communications professional to serve as the Marketing Specialist supporting the College of Engineering. Central to the University's excellence in STEM fields, the College of Engineering offers in-demand undergraduate and graduate programs in bioengineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering and computer science, environmental engineering, and mechanical engineering, along with engineering technology programs to complement each of those areas. The UToledo College of Engineering's co-op program is one of only eight in the country that integrates work-based learning opportunities into its academic curriculum. The college recently celebrated 20 years of providing this hands-on experience that ensures students are job-ready upon graduation.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required - May accept five-seven (5-7) years applicable experience in lieu of higher education.
- Prefer minimum of four years of marketing and/or project management experience
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office -- strong Excel, Power Point and Word skills and experience required.
Communication and other skills:
- Excellent written (including editing) and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of or ability to learn and adhere to AP Style guidelines
- Self-motivated with the ability to follow directions while working independently
- High proficiency in project management, attention to detail, prioritization of work and organizational skills required.
- Ability to build relationships and develop trust with stakeholders
- Ability to contribute to team projects
- A high degree of professionalism and strong work ethic coupled with a sense of responsibility and integrity required.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision, tight time constraints, and periodic high-volume circumstances.
- Willingness and ability to take direction from various sources required.
- Must be flexible and available outside of normal business hours.
