About The Company:
Our client is a mission-driven association with a collaborative and engaged team. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of marketing and communications initiatives while working closely with internal leaders and subject matter experts. The Marketing Specialist will support the organization's content and communications efforts, with a primary focus on newsletter development, written content, and digital communications. The ideal candidate will be an experienced writer and editor who can manage multiple deadlines, produce polished materials, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist organizational leaders and internal experts with developing presentation materials, speaker notes, and supporting communications Own the newsletter workflow, including coordinating submissions, developing copy, editing content, and preparing materials for distribution Produce recurring written content and news updates, incorporating relevant information and research into engaging articles Identify noteworthy member activities and accomplishments that may be appropriate for editorial coverage Review and polish content submitted by internal contributors and members to maintain consistency in style, tone, and editorial standards Conduct research and fact-checking to help ensure published materials are accurate, informative, and well-supported Contribute to additional marketing, editorial, and communications initiatives based on organizational needs
Qualifications:
4+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, content development, or a related field Demonstrated experience creating and editing written content, preferably including newsletters or other recurring publications Strong command of written communication, grammar, proofreading, and editorial best practices Comfortable using Microsoft Office and a variety of digital marketing or communications platforms Excellent organization skills with the ability to balance competing deadlines and projects Strong research skills and a detail-oriented approach to reviewing content Team-oriented professional who can work effectively with both leadership and cross-functional stakeholders Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered
Additional Details:
This is a contract position expected to last approximately 3-5 months. The role is based in Washington, DC and follows a hybrid schedule requiring four days onsite each week. The position will support a variety of content and communications initiatives and requires strong writing, editing, and project coordination skills.
