Job Description

Location:
Newtown, CT Our Marketing Specialist position is an opportunity for a creative and analytical team player with a bachelor's degree and two years of Marketing, Public Relations or Communications experience to join our Marketing team. The Marketing Specialist supports Newtown Savings Bank's marketing and community relations initiatives by coordinating communications across traditional and digital channels. This role ensures brand consistency, assists with product marketing efforts, and provides operational and creative support for community relations activities. Reporting to the Product Marketing and Development Manager, the Marketing Specialist works closely with the Marketing team and the Community Relations Officer. This is an onsite opportunity at our Corporate office in Newtown, CT. The role has a remote option of one day per week.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Relations Support Manages day‑to‑day community relations activities, including processing donations and sponsorship requests. Maintains records of donations, events, and employee volunteer opportunities using Kadince software and updates related content on the Bank's website. Public Relation & Events Oversees the Bank's weekly PR Events calendar, communicating opportunities to Officers and Sales Staff. Manages related invitations, event reservations, and payments. Supports community events and branch‑based sales events by coordinating marketing materials, promotional items, logistics, and staff participation. Ensures photos and video assets are captured for marketing use. Customer Research & Data Analytics Supports campaign development and performance tracking by leveraging marketing data platforms to identify opportunities and optimize campaign strategies. Conducts competitive analysis, monitoring paid advertising, organic social media, and media coverage within the local market. Identifies regional and industry trends and prepares weekly reports for the Marketing team. Conducts customer surveys, analyzes responses, and presents actionable insights through clear data reports and presentations. Marketing Material & Merchandising Support Designs and distributes marketing materials including signage, flyers, advertisements, in‑branch videos, social media graphics, and other collateral to support product marketing and sales initiatives. Inventory Management Oversees the ordering, organization, and distribution of marketing materials and promotional items to branches and departments. Amphitheater Program Support Supports amphitheater-related activities by preparing communications, managing the survey request process, distributing tickets, and coordinating hosting with the Sales team. Content Development Assists with drafting press releases, financial education articles, and other written content for local media, the Bank's website, and social media channels. Compliance Documentation Maintenance Maintains marketing and community relations compliance records to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS A
bachelor's degree and 2 years of Marketing, Public Relations or Communications experience is preferred. Experience with graphic programs such as Canva and Adobe Photoshop is preferred. Working knowledge of video editing software and HTML would be helpful but is not required. Strong communication skills, be detail oriented, and results driven. Candidate must be open to flexible hours as occasional after-hours or weekend work may be assigned.
