Remote / Flexible About the Opportunity Are you interested in music, marketing, social media, or entrepreneurship? We are looking for a creative and motivated intern to help an independent musician and composer bring a collection of original music to a larger audience. The music has already been professionally composed and recorded. The next challenge is figuring out how to market it, build an audience, and generate sales in today's digital world. This is a hands-on opportunity where you'll have the freedom to contribute ideas and help build a music marketing strategy from the ground up. What You'll Work On You'll help develop and execute a plan to promote and sell an existing catalog of original music, including:
  • Creating a digital marketing and sales strategy
  • Helping market and sell physical CDs
  • Exploring opportunities to sell and distribute music digitally
  • Creating social media content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube
  • Identifying potential audiences for the music
  • Researching organizations, businesses, groups and individuals who may be interested in the music
  • Developing creative promotional campaigns
  • Helping build an email list and online following
  • Exploring partnerships and other opportunities to introduce the music to new audiences
  • Tracking which marketing ideas generate the most interest and sales Who We're Looking For You don't need years of experience.
We're looking for someone who is creative, curious and willing to experiment. This could be a great fit for a student studying: Marketing Music Music Business Communications Entrepreneurship Digital Media Business Experience with social media, Canva, video editing, email marketing, websites, Shopify, Etsy or other online selling platforms is helpful, but not required. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys music and likes the challenge of figuring out how to turn a creative product into a business. What You'll Gain This isn't an internship where you'll spend your time doing busywork. You'll have an opportunity to take ownership of a real project and gain practical experience in: Music marketing Digital sales Social media Content creation Audience development Entrepreneurship You'll also have the opportunity to build measurable results and a project you can include in your portfolio or résumé. Our Goal The goal is simple: Take a collection of great original music and find the people who will appreciate it.
