Position:
Direct-to-Consumer and Digital Marketing /
Wine Educator Internship Available:
April - October, 2025
Location:
Burke, Virginia / Strasburg, VA / Hybrid Remote What you'll do: Interns will learn direct-to-consumer wine sales, digital wine marketing, along with service, production, and evaluation in a dynamic environment. Interns will gain an in-depth understanding of Star in the Valley's hospitality model and commitment to authenticity. Interns will lead and manage remote tasting experiences at the Burke Farmers Market in the Northern Virginia area. There are possibilities to assist with social media and traditional advertising during the term of the internship. As a member of our team, interns will: Participate in wine training to learn wine production, service, and analysis, as well as Star in the Valley's product portfolio. Represent the winery at remote, off-site events and farmers markets. Assist with customer service, wine education, and direct-to-consumer wine sales. Lead Burke Farmers Market location via planning, setting up remotely, and managing tastings. Assist with digital marketing, including email, social media, and content creation.
Preferred Majors:
Marketing, Hospitality, Communications, Public Relations, Sales, Culinary Arts, Enology, or Viticulture.
Preferred Skills:
A successful candidate would be at least 21 years old, and have an interest in wine, wine production, or value added agricultural products. The candidate would also have an interest in hospitality and face-to-face customer interactions, as well as a desire to work in a physically demanding, fast paced environment.
