Sr Marketing Manager Position Overview:
Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for optimizing Powder Mountain's digital footprint and driving real-time guest communication. This role splits its focus between technical digital execution (website maintenance and robust SEO strategy) and high-impact, live mountain communications during the winter season.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, with seasonal adjustments: Pre-Season (Sept 1 - Nov): Mon-Fri on-site at Powder HQ in Eden, UT In-Season (Winter Operations): Tues-Sat 5 days on-site at Powder Mountain Resort, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.•Due to the reactive nature of this role, shifts may start earlier or run later than the standard workday to accommodate on-mountain emergencies, significant weather updates, and other operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Website Maintenance & SEO Strategy Oversee daily content updates, accuracy, usability, and overall UX across the Powder Mountain website. Build, evolve, and execute a comprehensive technical, on-page, and local SEO roadmap, optimizing specifically for today's AI-driven search ecosystem. Research, pitch, and write engaging, keyword-optimized blog posts. Actively monitor and analyze performance data using Google Analytics, Semrush, and Mouseflow, leveraging heatmaps and user-behavior tracking to continuously optimize the site's UX and drive conversions. On-Mountain Communication & Snow Reporting Serve as a key onsite communication liaison for real-time mountain updates, partnering directly with Mountain Operations, Ski Patrol, and Snow Safety to gather rapid, accurate operational data during dynamic events. Translate operational details into clear public messaging, following established protocols to distribute time-sensitive information related to lift openings/closures, parking status, and mountain safety protocols via the website, email, social, and digital signage. Publish daily snow reports outlining current mountain conditions, accumulation, and upcoming weather patterns for guests and residents. Update digital signage across the mountain to accurately reflect lift and terrain status. Core Goals Maintain an accurate, functional, and SEO-optimized website Deliver accurate, timely operational and weather updates to guests and residents. Provide regular analytics and behavior tracking reports to clearly demonstrate digital performance, user trends, and SEO growth. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field. 2-4 years of experience in digital marketing, preferably in the outdoor, hospitality, or resort industries. Strong writing skills with a keen eye for grammar, punctuation, and tone. Exceptional knowledge of SEO strategy and implementation. This includes a deep understanding of today's evolving search landscape, particularly how to optimize content for AI-driven search and modern search engine algorithms. High proficiency with tracking and behavioral analytics platforms, like Google Analytics, SEMrush, and Mouseflow. Highly organized, results-driven, and detail-oriented.

Working Environment:
Expected to be able to work in a multitude of outside mountain conditions. Periods of prolonged exposure to the elements such as warm and cold temps, heavy winds, intense precipitation, and poor visibility.
