Job Description
At Utah Valley University, this position offers the opportunity to help connect students with meaningful career and internship opportunities through creative, strategic marketing and communications. As a key member of the Career & Internship Center team, you will collaborate on multi-channel marketing campaigns that promote programs, events, and services designed to support student success. The role combines content creation, digital marketing, branding, and audience engagement, allowing you to shape messaging that informs, inspires, and encourages student participation across campus. This position provides a dynamic environment where marketing, relationship-building, and higher education intersect. In addition to leading communication strategies and developing engaging content, you will support the promotion of career fairs, employer events, and other campus initiatives while partnering with employer relations professionals to strengthen connections with the business community. Ideal candidates will enjoy the opportunity to make a direct impact on student career readiness, contribute innovative ideas, and develop a broad range of skills in marketing, event promotion, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communications within a mission-driven university setting. This position collaborates on the development and execution of internal and external multi-channel marketing campaigns to promote the Career & Internship Center's programs, events, and resources. It is a member of the Events & Marketing Committee, overseeing messaging, timelines, content creation, and outreach strategies to boost student engagement. Must be in communication and alignment with centralized UVU Marcom. The role manages content calendars and delivers brand-aligned messaging across digital platforms, including social media, email, and the Center's website. It tracks and analyzes campaign performance to guide data-informed improvements and ensures consistent tone, visuals, and messaging across all communications. The position also partners with the Employer Relations team to create marketing content that attracts employer participation in student-facing events and supports employer outreach efforts with professional, brand-consistent materials. The role ensures that marketing efforts are seamlessly integrated with event timelines and effectively targeted to appropriate student and external audiences. It develops and deploys promotional materials such as flyers, digital signage, and social media content to elevate visibility and increase participation in events. This position assists with the preparation and execution of Center events, including the organizing of promotional events and traditional or digital campaigns, and attends them to facilitate their successful completion. Assists in Jumpstart Orientation presentations, tabling, and resource fairs. Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree, plus one year of marketing/design experience; OR a combination of relevant education and experience totaling five years. Knowledge Knowledge of current marketing trends and strategies. Knowledge of social media marketing. Skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; skill in oversight and maintenance of marketing campaigns. Strong oral and written communication skills. Abilities Creative mindset with ability to bring fresh and current ideas for marketing. Ability to be a self-starter; crucial that candidate can work well without constant supervision. Ability to work well in a team environment and foster collaboration. Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with staff/personnel across Utah Valley University. On occasion, ability to have a variable and flexible schedule to be able to cover events after 5:00 pm, when necessary.
