Job Description

HWY1 - Marketing and Outreach Specialist HWY1 and Everly - 3.6 Madison, WI Job Details Part-time $20 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Hospitality business promotion Influencer partnership campaigns Marketing Direct mail media campaign management Networking through cold outreach Social media marketing strategy development Grassroots community outreach Promotional community events Communications TikTok Facebook Content planning Brand activation campaign events Marketing operations Business Instagram Public relations content creation Entry level Under 1 year Full Job Description Position Overview HWY1 Baja Bowls & Burritos brings fresh-made Baja-style bowls and burritos to Monroe Street — and we're on a mission to become Madison's go-to spot for real, fresh food. We just wrapped year one, and now we want to make some noise. We're looking for a creative, self-starting person who lives on social media, loves dreaming up scrappy marketing ideas, and wants to see their ideas actually happen — fast. This isn't a "wait for instructions" job. You'll run our social content, pitch us on local PR angles, help plan mail-marketing drops, hunt down the right local influencers to partner with, and cook up guerrilla marketing stunts (think: campus flyer takeovers, surprise sampling pop-ups, anything fun and a little unexpected) that get people talking about HWY1. If you've got big ideas and the drive to run with them with minimal hand-holding, we want to hear from you. Instead of a formal cover letter, feel free to send us your best marketing idea for HWY1 in a paragraph
Work Arrangement In-person, Remote, or Hybrid:
Hybrid — content creation and planning can happen remotely, but the fun guerrilla stuff, events, and influencer meetups happen in person, around the restaurant and campus. Regular check-ins with Operations Lead and VP of Business Development happen in person and virtually.
Qualifications Education:
Currently enrolled undergraduate student; marketing, communications, business, or related field preferred (not required — we care more about creativity than a specific major)
Skills:
A natural at social media (Instagram/TikTok/Facebook); strong writer; full of ideas and not afraid to pitch the weird ones; comfortable working independently and making things happen without needing to be told exactly how.
Experience:
No professional marketing experience required, but prior marketing coursework is a plus — we're more interested in your personal social presence, campus involvement, side projects, or just a track record of "I had an idea and made it happen."
