With millions of users worldwide, Replit is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation. About the Role Replit is investing seriously in paid media — TV, CTV, online video, out-of-home, audio, social, and search — and we need the person who makes that investment work. This role is the internal owner of our media program: you'll direct our external media agencies, pressure-test their plans, steward the budget, and hold every dollar accountable for reaching the right audiences on the right channels at the right time. You'll report to the VP of Marketing and act as the connective tissue between our brand and growth teams and our agency partners. This is not a hands-on-keyboard activation role. You won't be living in Ads Manager — you'll be the person who briefs the agency, challenges the channel mix, catches the pacing problem before it becomes a budget problem, and translates campaign performance into decisions leadership can act on. This is the right role if you've sat on the brand side (or want to move there from a media agency), you know what a great media plan looks like and what a lazy one looks like, and you get energy from being the sharpest media mind in the room without needing to touch the platforms yourself. What You'll Do Agency leadership: Serve as the primary day-to-day partner to our media agencies. Set strategy direction, write clear briefs, run planning cycles and QBRs, and hold partners accountable for performance, optimization, quality, and business results.
Plan interrogation:
Review and challenge agency recommendations across every channel — TV, CTV, OLV, OOH, audio, social, search, programmatic. Catch weak rationale, frequency saturation risks, and budget misallocations before plans get approved.
Budget stewardship:
Own media budget pacing, forecasting, authorizations, and reconciliation in partnership with Finance. Monitor spend and delivery mid-flight, flag risks early, and drive reallocations when the data says to. Media strategy & planning: Lead annual, quarterly, and campaign-level planning with the agency. Make sure plans reflect our audiences, product moments, competitive pressure, and business goals — not just what's easy to buy. Measurement & accountability: Define campaign KPIs and measurement frameworks with the agency and our analytics team. Own wrap reports, drive a test-and-learn agenda (incrementality, brand lift, MMM as we scale), and go beyond CPMs and impressions to reach efficiency and cost-per-outcome.
Executive reporting:
Distill campaign and channel performance into clear recommendations for marketing leadership. Tell us what worked, what didn't, and what we should do differently — with numbers behind it.
Cross-functional alignment:
Partner with Brand, Growth, Creative, Product Marketing, Social, and Comms so media plans amplify what the rest of marketing is building, and so creative assets fit the placements we're buying. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of media planning and strategy experience, either brand-side managing external agencies or at a media agency serving major consumer brands Demonstrated experience independently reviewing and challenging agency media plans, not just executing against them Experience managing multi-million dollar media budgets across concurrent campaigns, including pacing, forecasting, and mid-flight reallocation Fluency across the full channel landscape: TV/CTV, online video, OOH, audio/podcasts, paid social, search, and programmatic — you can evaluate rates, rationale, and audience fit in any of them Strong command of media measurement: reach and frequency, brand lift, incrementality testing, and marketing mix modeling Sharp analytical skills; you can work from raw campaign data to find performance trends and budget inefficiencies, and you're at home in Excel Strong stakeholder management across Finance, Analytics, Creative, and agency teams; you write briefs people can actually work from
AI-native:
actively using AI tools to speed up analysis, reporting, and planning work — you're not just aware of them, you're using them daily Comfort operating in ambiguity and at speed; you don't need committee consensus to make smart decisions Bonus Qualifications Experience at a high-growth consumer tech, B2C, or AI company Agency alumni who've made (or want to make) the move to the client side Experience standing up a media function or measurement framework from scratch Experience with OOH and large cultural-moment buys (sponsorships, tentpole events) A point of view on how AI is changing media planning and buying — and what most brands get wrong about it Active Replit user; you've built and shipped something with the product Based in or able to relocate to the
