Do you love fashion, know what's trending before everyone else, and have an eye for content that makes people stop scrolling? Uptown Cheapskate Reno is a brand-new store and the first Uptown Cheapskate in Nevada! We are currently open to buy, building an amazing inventory of fashion from the Reno community as we prepare for our Grand Opening in October. We're looking for a creative, outgoing, fashion-forward Social Media Manager / Fashion Buyer to help build our local brand, grow our social media presence, and become an important part of our buying team. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves fashion, content creation, social media, and working with people. You won't be sitting behind a desk all day — you'll be on the store floor finding great product, creating content, working with our team, interacting with customers, and helping make Uptown Cheapskate Reno the place everyone wants to shop and sell. Social Media & Marketing You'll help bring Uptown Cheapskate Reno to life online by: Helping create, maintain, and implement a consistent social media content calendar and posting schedule Planning content in advance around store priorities, promotions, events, buying needs, seasonal trends, and our Grand Opening Creating fun, engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other social platforms Photographing and filming great incoming clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories, and designer finds Creating Reels, Stories, posts, and short-form video content Highlighting what we're currently buying and encouraging customers to bring in their closets to sell Promoting new arrivals, events, giveaways, special promotions, and our October Grand Opening Featuring team members and helping showcase the fun personality of our store Staying current on social media trends, sounds, formats, and content ideas Helping grow followers, engagement, and our local Reno audience Responding appropriately to social media comments and messages Helping promote our Insider program and build excitement around the store Identifying opportunities to collaborate with local influencers, businesses, schools, and community organizations Tracking what content performs well and using those insights to improve future posts Following Uptown Cheapskate and franchise brand standards for logos, trademarks, imagery, promotions, and brand placement Ensuring social media content complies with applicable platform, copyright, trademark, music-licensing, advertising, and promotional requirements Using only appropriately licensed or platform-approved music, audio, images, graphics, and other creative content Helping ensure influencer, giveaway, sponsored, or promotional content includes any required disclosures or notices Reviewing content before posting to help protect the brand and maintain a consistent, professional voice We want someone who is comfortable getting creative and actually making the content, while also being organized enough to plan ahead and follow brand and legal guidelines. Fashion Buying Our Buyers play one of the most important roles in the store — they decide what makes it onto our racks. You'll also: Evaluate clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories customers bring in to sell Select merchandise based on current trends, brands, condition, demand, and Uptown Cheapskate buying standards Learn pricing and resale values across a wide variety of brands Stay current on fashion brands, styles, seasonal trends, and what our customers are looking for Provide a friendly and professional experience for customers selling items to us Help process, organize, and merchandise incoming inventory Spot especially exciting incoming pieces that would make great social media content The combination of social media and buying means you'll have a front-row seat to the best product coming through our doors — and get to decide how we show it off. Who We're Looking For We'd love to meet someone who: Loves fashion and knows current brands and trends Has experience creating social media content for a business, organization, brand, or personal platform Understands Instagram, TikTok, Reels, Stories, and short-form video Is comfortable taking photos and videos and appearing on camera when appropriate Has a good eye for what looks great visually Can create engaging captions and content ideas Is creative, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative Is dependable and follows through on projects Enjoys working with customers and being part of a team Can balance creativity with the day-to-day responsibilities of working in a busy retail store Is excited to learn fashion buying and the resale business Previous professional social media experience is preferred. Experience with fashion, retail, resale, photography, video editing, Canva, or content creation is a plus. Fashion buying experience is helpful but not required — we will train the right person. Compensation & Benefits $15.00-$17.00 per hour, depending on social media and buying experience Performance bonus potential Employee discount Training in fashion buying and resale Opportunity to build the social presence of a brand-new business from the ground up Creative freedom to test new content and ideas Advancement opportunities as the store grows Be part of the opening team for Nevada's first Uptown Cheapskate Schedule This is a full-time position averaging 35-40 hours per week. Hours will include a combination of social media planning and content creation, fashion buying, and other in-store responsibilities. Some weekend availability may be required based on store needs, events, and promotions. Be Part of Something New This isn't a traditional social media job. One minute you might be filming a Reel featuring an incredible designer bag that just came in, the next you're helping evaluate a customer's clothing, brainstorming a Grand Opening promotion, or grabbing one of your coworkers for a fun TikTok. We're looking for someone who wants to own our social media presence, help build a local following, and make Uptown Cheapskate Reno a recognizable part of the Reno fashion community. We're open to buy now and preparing for our Grand Opening in October. If you love fashion, social media, creating great content, and finding amazing deals, we'd love to meet you. Apply today!
