About the Role Meal Prep Sunday San Diego is seeking a highly organized and driven Product Development & Operations Manager to lead new product initiatives and support the continued growth of our direct-to-consumer food production business. This role combines product development, vendor management, operational improvement, procurement, and project coordination. The ideal candidate will work closely with ownership to identify new opportunities, source ingredients and equipment, develop innovative products, and support the expansion of our production capabilities. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of new products from concept to launch. Research and identify opportunities for new product lines, including: Branded meal prep products Specialty snacks Nutritional supplements Pet food products Build and manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, co-packers, and vendors. Source ingredients, packaging, equipment, and production solutions. Coordinate product testing, quality control, and supplier evaluations. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and purchasing agreements. Support kitchen expansion and facility improvement projects. Assist with equipment procurement, installation, and production infrastructure planning. Monitor product quality and ensure consistency across all product lines. Collaborate with ownership and operations teams to improve efficiency, scalability, and profitability. Analyze costs, margins, and opportunities for operational improvements. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Additional Key Responsibilities Lead cross-functional projects that support the company's strategic objectives. Work directly with the CEO on high-priority business initiatives. Coordinate special projects across multiple departments as business needs evolve. Support business strategy through research, analysis, and execution of key initiatives. Adapt quickly to changing priorities and take ownership of new projects as they arise. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in product development, food manufacturing, operations, purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related fields. Strong project management and organizational skills. Experience working with vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and project management tools. Food industry experience preferred. Preferred Experience Food manufacturing, meal prep, or commercial kitchen operations. Direct-to-consumer (DTC) food brands. Product sourcing and procurement. Vendor and supplier management. New product launches and commercialization. Equipment purchasing and facility expansion projects. Inventory, supply chain, and production planning. Quality assurance and product testing. What Success Looks Like Successfully launching new products and revenue opportunities. $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
