As a leader in the optical industry, we manage a portfolio of fashion-forward brands that blend design, innovation, and philanthropy. Position Summary The Product Development Specialist supports the creation and launch of optical frames, sunglasses, and related eyewear products. This role manages development timelines, coordinates sample approvals, communicates with factories and vendors, and ensures products meet brand, quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Key Responsibilities Coordinate the development of new eyewear collections from initial concept through production launch. Work with design teams to manage product specifications, materials, colors, trims, and packaging details. Track development timelines and ensure milestones are met. Communicate with overseas factories regarding prototypes, samples, revisions, and production readiness. Review and approve sample submissions for accuracy against design and technical specifications. Maintain product development documentation, including technical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), costing sheets, and sample logs. Partner with purchasing and operations teams to address manufacturing, quality, and delivery issues. Support cost analysis. Coordinate product testing and compliance requirements as needed. Assist with line reviews and product presentations. Qualifications 5-7 years of product development experience preferred. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple product launches simultaneously. Excellent communication skills and experience working with international vendors. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP system preferred. Understanding of eyewear materials such as acetate, metal, titanium, injected plastics, and lenses is a plus. Preferred Skills Knowledge of eyewear manufacturing processes. Experience reviewing technical drawings and specifications. Strong attention to detail and color/material accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Experience with SAP system or similar product management tools.
