Job Summary We are looking for an experienced, motivated Lighting Showroom Sales Consultant to join our team. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has a strong sense of design, and knows how to turn a customer's needs into a successful sale. Our showroom serves homeowners, builders, contractors, remodelers, designers and other trade professionals . The successful candidate will help customers select lighting for new construction, renovations and individual projects—from initial consultation through quoting, ordering and follow-up. What You'll Do Meet with customers in our showroom and understand their project, style and budget Recommend lighting fixtures and related products that fit the customer's needs Develop relationships with builders, designers, contractors and homeowners Prepare quotes and proposals and follow up consistently Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously Build repeat business and generate referrals Work closely with our electrical supply and showroom teams to ensure orders are handled accurately Stay current on lighting products, trends and manufacturers Help maintain an attractive, organized and inspiring showroom Most importantly, close sales and provide an exceptional customer experience What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: A proven salesperson who enjoys selling rather than simply taking orders Comfortable working with higher-value purchases and longer sales cycles Professional, personable and confident with customers Organized and excellent at follow-up Comfortable discussing design, style and product options Able to work with homeowners as well as building and trade professionals Motivated by commission and achieving sales goals Comfortable learning technical product information Lighting experience is a plus, but not required. Experience in lighting, kitchen & bath, plumbing, appliances, flooring, furniture, interior design, windows/doors, building materials or other specialty retail would be highly relevant. The Person We're Looking For We are particularly interested in someone who can take a customer from: "I'm looking for some lights." to "These are the fixtures I want, here's my quote, and I'm ready to order." You should enjoy building relationships, asking questions, making recommendations and asking for the sale. Compensation We offer a competitive base salary plus performance-based commission/bonus compensation . The better you perform, the more you can earn. Experience will be considered for starting rate. We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with a successful local business—not simply fill a retail position.
