Job DescriptionThe primary objective of this position is to lead the volume and sales forecast analytical process for Etenta, AbbVie's Multiple Myeloma (MM) franchise. Etenta is a 100% AbbVie-owned asset, and this role is built to scale with the franchise: beyond the launch indication, the forecast scope is expected to expand across additional Etenta indications (e.g., earlier lines of therapy) and additional MM pipeline products as they advance toward launch.
Specifically, this position is responsible for developing accurate and timely projections of commercial product volumes for Plan, Update, LBE, LRP, Portfolio, and Actual submissions, as well as providing decision-making support and recommendations to Senior Management. As the MM portfolio grows, the role establishes the forecasting methodology, tools, and cadence that new indications and assets will inherit — making this a franchise-building position, not a single-product one.
The Associate Director builds and maintains deep knowledge of the business through focused partnership with internal AbbVie functions, including Marketing & Sales Management, Marketing Analytics & Business Insights (MABI), Market Access, and Commercial Finance.
Prepare, create, and review sales reporting and key-metric forecasting packages for the MM franchise.
Present monthly actual sales results and future-period volume forecasts to the Commercial VP and Marketing Directors.
Lead the development of accurate product sales projections for Plan, Update, LBE, LRP, and Portfolio submissions — using sound analytical assumptions and clear communication of rationale and methodology.
Build and own the forecast models that will scale across new Etenta indications and additional MM assets, establishing a consistent, auditable methodology for the franchise.
Provide ad-hoc analytical support across business needs, including launch and new-indication scenarios, channel/product-mix impacts, and other key business drivers.
Leverage working knowledge of technical areas — forecast modeling approaches (regression, patient-flow, etc.), financial modeling, market dynamics, primary market research, competitive intelligence, and syndicated data sources.
Partner with internal Commercial, Pricing, Finance, and MABI teams to address business issues and provide solutions, including defining the risks and opportunities associated with the forecast.
Coordinate a focused cadence of interactions with MABI, Market Access, and Marketing to keep forecast assumptions aligned to the latest market view.
Lead and develop the Etenta forecasting team, which is expected to grow with the MM portfolio; provide coaching and career-development opportunities to sustain a high-performing staff.
Drive a positive, productive, and inclusive culture in full alignment with AbbVie's ways of working and expected behaviors.
Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance.
Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically, identify key issues, opportunities, and value drivers, and translate strategic insights into forecasts that drive business decisions.
Ability to use market research to discover and quantify the financial impact of marketing initiatives and competitive events.
Ability to triangulate a wide variety of data sets and analytics to inform forecasting in a clear and concise way.
Ability to solve business problems through proactive identification of issues and the collection, analysis, and interpretation of related data.
Experience leading and motivating a team in a dynamic business environment to achieve results and deliverables.
Experience supporting senior operating management.
Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; excellent communication and presentation skills.
US Commercial experience and knowledge of the financial planning process.
Oncology / hematology (Multiple Myeloma) therapeutic-area familiarity.
Power BI, MS Access, SQL, Python, Workiva, and web-based analytical dashboard tools a plus.
