Description and Requirements Lenovo is looking for a Software Product Manager- Android Tablet OS & AI Ecosystem to define and deliver the next generation of Android tablet software and AI experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Own Android Tablet OS Strategy & Roadmap Define the software strategy and multi-generation roadmap for Lenovo Android tablets based on the latest Google Android releases and platform evolution Evaluate new Android capabilities and determine how they should translate into differentiated Lenovo tablet experiences Own product planning across key OS areas including system experience, productivity, multitasking, connectivity, security, privacy, large-screen experiences, and device intelligence Translate customer insights, competitive analysis, Google platform direction, and Lenovo business priorities into clear product requirements and roadmap decisions Partner with engineering and program teams from concept through development, validation, certification, launch, telemetry, and post-launch optimization Balance platform consistency, Lenovo differentiation, development investment, schedule, and long-term maintainability Drive Google Platform & Compliance Planning Serve as a key product interface for Lenovo's collaboration with Google on Android tablet software Track upcoming Android platform changes and translate them into actionable product and engineering plans Drive product-level planning related to Google MADA, RSA, certification, compatibility, security, and other applicable Android ecosystem requirements Identify platform dependencies and compliance risks early and work with engineering, legal, business, and Google stakeholders to establish mitigation plans Help Lenovo take advantage of new Google platform capabilities while maintaining product quality, compliance, and launch readiness Lead Google AI & Lenovo Qira AI Experience Integration Define how Google AI technologies / Lenovo Qira AI and Tablet capabilities come together to create differentiated tablet experiences Identify high-value use cases where AI can fundamentally improve learning, productivity, creativity, communication, and device interaction Drive AI features from concept and customer problem definition through prototype, product requirement, development, launch, and iteration Evaluate new AI capabilities including multimodal interaction, generative AI, personalized experiences, agentic workflows, contextual intelligence, and AI-powered UI Define success metrics and use customer feedback and telemetry to continuously improve AI experiences after launch Build the Software & AI Ecosystem This role extends beyond traditional product management and includes a meaningful business development and ecosystem development responsibility Identify external technologies, applications, AI services, developers, and strategic partners that can strengthen Lenovo's tablet software proposition Develop partnership opportunities across AI models and services, productivity, education, creativity, gaming, cross-device experiences, and emerging software ecosystems Evaluate potential partners from both product and business perspectives, including customer value, differentiation, integration feasibility, commercial model, scalability, and strategic fit Work with internal business development, legal, engineering, marketing, and regional teams to move partnerships from exploration to product integration and market launch Develop compelling joint value propositions with strategic ecosystem partners Represent Lenovo's tablet software strategy in discussions with technology partners and industry ecosystem stakeholders Connect U.S. Market Needs with China-Based Product Development Act as a bridge between Lenovo's U.S. market, partner ecosystem, and China-based product and engineering organizations Translate U.S. customer, competitive, channel, and ecosystem insights into actionable requirements for global product teams Communicate complex product and technical topics clearly across cultural, organizational, and geographic boundaries. Drive alignment among stakeholders when priorities, market requirements, platform constraints, and development resources compete Support global product launches while ensuring North American market requirements are adequately represented in product decisions Within This role,Success Means:
Lenovo's Android tablet roadmap stays ahead of major Android platform transitions rather than reacting to them Google platform and compliance requirements are converted into clear, executable product plans early in the development cycle Google AI and Lenovo Qira AI capabilities become meaningful customer experiences, not simply technology demonstrations Lenovo develops differentiated software capabilities that strengthen the value of its tablet hardware New AI and software ecosystem partnerships accelerate innovation and create customer and business value U.S. market requirements and partner opportunities are effectively translated into global product decisions Teams across the U.S. and China operate around a clear, shared product strategyQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 5+ years of experience in software product management, platform product management, or a closely related technology role Experience delivering consumer software, mobile products, Android products, operating systems, AI products, or connected-device experiences Strong understanding of the Android ecosystem, including Android OS evolution, application ecosystem, system-level capabilities, and the relationship between Google and Android OEMs Demonstrated ability to translate technology trends and platform capabilities into customer-facing product experiences Experience working directly with software engineering teams throughout the complete product development lifecycle Strong product judgment with the ability to prioritize based on customer value, strategic differentiation, engineering complexity, and business impact Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to conduct product discussions, negotiations, presentations, and day-to-day collaboration in both languages Ability to collaborate effectively across teams located in the United States and China Experience working for an Android OEM, mobile device company, consumer electronics company, OS/platform company, or major software/AI company Direct experience working with Google Android platform teams or Android certification/compliance programs Familiarity with MADA, RSA, GMS, CTS/VTS, Android compatibility requirements, or related Google/OEM processes Experience developing AI-powered consumer products using generative AI, multimodal AI, on-device AI, LLMs, or AI agents Understanding of AI system architecture across device, edge, and cloud environments Experience with Android tablets, foldables, large-screen Android devices, PCs, smartphones, or cross-device ecosystems Experience establishing technology partnerships, developing partner ecosystems, or supporting software/AI business development Experience working in a highly distributed global organization Strong understanding of the U.S. consumer technology market and competitive landscapeBasic Requirements:
