Working with a fast-paced cross-functional team, you'll have a chance to be at the forefront of key efforts across innovation, quality improvements, capacity expansions and sustainability for the brand. Working on this team gives hands-on exposure and leadership opportunity to own the end-to-end development and launch process. How you will contribute You will work independently and with a cross-functional team to plan, lead and coordinate technical projects in line with R D, regulatory, marketing and manufacturing requirements. You will effectively communicate status & risks and plan, lead, & coordinate pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. In addition, you will plan, lead, & coordinate development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation. etc.). To provide direction for product development, you will use digital simulation models to understand and interpret consumer insights and commercial information. In this role, you will create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications and be responsible for stakeholder management and influencing decisions based on conclusions made from analysis and interpretation of results. - Coaching and mentoring others More about this role What you need to know about this position: The candidate will be responsible for delivering a variety of projects within the North America Confections portfolio (Halls Over-the-Counter Drug and Dietary Supplement Products, with potential to work on Sour Patch Kids, & Swedish Fish), such as maintaining and optimizing products, supporting capacity expansion efforts, and delivering against quality and margin management goals.
- Drive excellence in Project Management
- Plan and execute work plans, including development of timelines, risk assessments and contingency plans
- Analyze results of experiments and translate them into actionable recommendations with minimal guidance and support
- Have strong knowledge of the commercialization process
- Identify and efficiently utilize necessary resources to achieve timely delivery of project objectives
- Possess a strong understanding of the functional characteristics of ingredients, packaging materials, and process unit operations, including how they impact finished products to meet consumer expectations.
Certifications:
BS in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related field.Job specific requirements:
- Minimum of 5 yrs. experience, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong technical foundation and a high level of technical curiosity.
- Ability to develop and drive technical project with proper scientific rigor: conduct appropriate testing, gather and analyze data, and develop recommendations based on findings.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and manage complexity- from bench top to execution.
- Participate in cross functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization Travel requirements: Travel up to 30%, to locations in Canada, US, Turkey, and Mexico.
