Click here or copy and paste into your browser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APZBCNRYpKg About the Role As a Product Line Manager (PLM), you own the full business and operational performance of a product family, from incoming material to finished goods. Acting as the "mini-GM" for your cell, you will own safety, quality, delivery, and efficient cost for a high-volume workcell while coordinating production, supply chain, quality, and engineering resources. The PLM leads all operations for the designated workcell, ensuring exceptional service, strong financial performance, and a safe, well-run workplace. In this role, you will oversee team performance, customer relationships, inventory, and operational efficiency including key performance indicators aligning with company goals. The PLM is a hands-on leader who motivates teams, drives profitability, and ensures compliance with company policies and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Hire, train, coach, and develop a high performing team. Plan and allocate labor/equipment and adjust to demand signals. Facilitate production meetings and remove roadblocks for Operators. Foster a positive, accountable, and safety focused culture. Promote collaboration, morale, and professional appearance across the workcell. Address employee concerns promptly and support career growth.
P & L/KPI
Ownership Develop and execute strategic business plans for workcell to drive revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Meet or beat KPIs including but not limited to: revenue, gross margin, and on-time delivery goals. Build annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Approve spend within delegation of authority. Create and submit for approval all requests for capital expenditures. Work with Finance to determine Return on Investment. Collaborate with sales and delivery teams to optimize schedules and service quality. Quality & Compliance Ensure all policies, procedures, and operational routines are followed effectively. Partner with Quality Engineering to maintain quality standards and customer-specific requirements. Lead root cause and correction action reviews. Champion "first-time-right" culture. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, HR practices, and company policies. Continuous Improvement Deploy Lean/Six Sigma tools to drive safety, cost, and cycle-time gains. Identify and track savings and regularly present continuous improvement roadmap to senior leadership. Identify and mitigate risk exposure issues. Customer Engagement Serve as the face of the workcell, ensuring strong relationships with customers, vendors, and program managers. Provide build-status updates, cost reduction proposals, and NPI readiness reviews. Partner with Key Account Manager(s) to resolve customer issues promptly and professionally. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, Business or related field (equivalent experience considered). 5+ years in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) or complex electronics manufacturing. Familiarity with ISO 13485, AS9100 or ITAR requirements. Demonstrated ownership of cell/line-level KPIs and cost controls. Strong business acumen. Understanding of cost drivers and ability to translate technical challenges into financial impact. Hands-on experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or CI methodologies. Strong data analysis skills and ability to turn insights into action. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate with both shop-floor operators and senior leadership team. Proven leadership and team management skills. Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in business software and systems (e.g., inventory, ERP, Microsoft Office). Preferred Qualifications Black Belt or Lean Practitioner certification. Experience launching new products for aerospace, defense, or medical device customers. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Climate-controlled electronics manufacturing services floor with additional time in an office setting. Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 25lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation. Occasional travel to customer sites or training events.
