This role is the operational backbone of the development process: keeping trackers current, samples organized, vendors on schedule, and information accurate so the Product Development Manager can stay focused on strategy, timelines, and cross-functional alignment. This is an ideal role for someone early in their jewelry or product development career who wants hands-on exposure to the full development lifecycle — from concept through production — inside a fast-growing, design-driven brand. You'll work closely with the Product Development Manager and Chief Creative Officer, gaining direct visibility into how a jewelry brand builds and scales its product engine. This role reports to the Product Development Manager. Key Responsibilities Product Development Support Support the Product Development Manager throughout the development process, from concept through sampling, costing, approvals, and production handoff Assist with the development of jewelry, packaging, components, and collateral Prepare and maintain tech packs, product specifications, materials information, and other development documentation Assist with product research, material sourcing, and competitive/trend research as needed Vendor & Factory Communication Support day-to-day communication with domestic and international vendors and manufacturing partners Send development information, artwork, specifications, and sample requests to vendors Track vendor responses, sample ETAs, costing, and development updates; follow up on outstanding items Escalate potential delays, quality concerns, or other issues to the Product Development Manager Production & Inventory Alignment Help coordinate product development timelines with upcoming launches and production needs Support launch readiness by tracking development milestones, approvals, and handoff timelines Assist with SKU and product setup as needed Execution & Cross-Functional Communication Work closely with the Product Development Manager, Operations Director, Chief Creative Officer, and Operations team to keep development projects on track Maintain development trackers, calendars, and status updates Document meeting notes, action items, and follow-ups Communicate project updates and outstanding items clearly across internal and external teams Quality & Detail Management Review samples and product details for accuracy; flag discrepancies or issues to the Product Development Manager Organize and maintain development samples and sample archives; track arrivals, revisions, approvals, and photo shoot samples Assist with collecting and maintaining vendor costing and product information; review costing sheets and quotes for accuracy Maintain accurate, organized development documentation and records Help ensure products meet HART's quality, design, and production standards Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in product development, production, merchandising, or a related role within jewelry, fashion, accessories, or a consumer brand Jewelry experience strongly preferred, particularly with fashion jewelry, charms, gemstones, beads, plating, or related materials Basic understanding of jewelry manufacturing and product development processes preferred A natural eye for design, instinct for trends and passion for personal style is a plus Strong follow-up skills and ability to communicate professionally with vendors and cross-functional teams Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines Extremely detail-oriented with strong follow-through Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Excel and Google Workspace Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where priorities can shift Curious, proactive, and eager to learn Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to ask questions and find solutions Ability to work collaboratively, take direction, and effectively manage assigned responsibilities Benefits & Perks Competitive paid time off Medical, dental, and vision insurance (eligible after 30 days) 401(k) with company matching Short-term and long-term disability coverage Life insurance options Generous employee discount Opportunity for international travel to visit and collaborate with global vendor and manufacturing partners This is a full-time position in-office based out of our headquarters in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. 1 work-from-home remote day permitted after 90 days (set schedule, determined by manager). Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to perform hands-on operational tasks, including lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds as needed.
