BASIC PURPOSE
The Product Manager, Level acts as the product owner for a level portfolio consisting of mechanical and electronic continuous and point-level products. In this capacity the Product Manager provides expertise in the sales, marketing, application and design to both internal and external customers of the WIKA USA organization.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB
Creates and executes business plans to increase revenue and profit for assigned portfolio Monitors market and competitors, analyzes offerings, and develops competitive sales and pricing strategies Generates product forecasts and monitors booking and sales to support decision making Together with Marketing, uses the latest B2B digital marketing tools and techniques to develop successful lead-gen campaigns Produces or provides technical papers, literature, and training material to insure all relevant sales channels are properly trained Participates in relevant industry trade shows Participates in sales efforts as the product expert and in doing so develops new market opportunities and customers Acts as a central liaison and knowledge expert for product issues and provides product support for internal and external customers Assists in product selection as required Assists in resolution of customer problems when requested Supports Engineering and Manufacturing Operations as required to resolve all issues in order to ensure successful order fulfilment Gathers the voice of the customer for new products/markets/applications and for improving competitive positioning in existing markets Supports product development from initial design through prototype and final marketplace introduction Manages product lifecycle including the preparation of market launches and product retirements Performs ancillary duties as needed
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
B.S. in relevant Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical preferred) 5+ years of process industry experience Ability to work and communicate with all job classifications from direct manufacturing through senior management, including customers Excellent written and oral communication skills Command of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel with some exposure to ERP systems a plus Understanding of general Engineering and Manufacturing processes and practices Strong mechanical aptitude Ability to manage small projects while handling day-to-day tasks Self-motivated and able to investigate, listen and make decisions based on data presented on new topics not previously known; ability and interest in taking "Product and Customer Ownership" Some travel required
