Job Description
As the Technical Platform Lead, Magento you will own the technical direction, governance, and continuous improvement of JPW's Adobe Commerce Cloud (Magento) platform supporting our B2B and B2C websites. You direct and oversee external development vendors and coordinate with internal teams to implement prioritized enhancements and fixes, ensure upgrade-safe practices, and deliver reliable integrations with enterprise systems and service providers (e.g., SAP and Salesforce). You are accountable for platform health, including performance, security, release quality, and integration reliability. With your technical depth, you will evaluate vendor deliverables, enforce platform standards, and make sound technical decisions.

(not limited to) Serve as the Magento Tech Lead and technical product owner of the Adobe Commerce Cloud (Magento) platform, ensuring vendor-delivered enhancements and fixes are upgrade-safe, secure, and aligned to platform best practices. Translate approved business needs into clear technical requirements and acceptance criteria; direct external development vendors on implementation approach and coordinate with internal teams to deliver changes. Own technical integration execution and reliability between Magento and enterprise systems/service providers, including API lifecycle management, monitoring, and incident triage (SAP and Salesforce preferred). Evaluate, implement, and govern extensions/plugins (e.g., payments/financing, checkout/cart, search/merchandising, marketing banner/content tools, shipping/tax) with a focus on security, performance, and maintainability. Own cloud environments and release governance (dev/staging/prod), including coordinating vendor deployments, regression testing, rollout plans, and post-release validation; serve as the approval authority for what gets pushed to production and maintain change control and release documentation. Act as the technical authority to validate feasibility and challenge vendor/department recommendations for quality, performance, security, and long-term maintainability; escalate risks and tradeoffs with options. Maintain a prioritized technical backlog balancing platform integrity, integration stability, security, and approved business requests; ensure work is sized, sequenced, and communicated clearly. Document technical designs, process flows, integration mappings, and operational procedures to support supportability and continuity. Own the technical SEO foundation and site hygiene (redirects, schema/structured data deployment, crawl controls, metadata implementation, Core Web Vitals remediation). correct data capture; coordinate handoff to Marketing for reporting/insights. Leverage AI/LLM tools to accelerate IT delivery (requirements drafting, test case creation, documentation, code assistance) and to support technical validation (e.g., schema checks), using appropriate governance for data and IP. Coordinate with the AI Content & Marketing Operations function to ensure responsibilities remain distinct and handoffs are clearPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technology discipline.EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
5+ years of experience with Adobe Commerce/Magento (Cloud preferred), with deep enough architectural fluency to direct, evaluate, and QA external vendor deliverables. Experience working with digital integrations/extensions for website & mobile. Strong experience working with Magento/Adobe Commerce Cloud architecture, upgrade-safe development practices, and cloud deployment pipelines—sufficient to review and govern vendor-delivered code and configurations. Hands-on experience with Adobe Commerce ecosystem tools such as Page Builder, Adobe Sensei, Live Search, Fastly CDN, or similar platform components. Solid knowledge of digital measurement and discovery frameworks including SEO, GEO, GTM, and GA4. Experience operating in a technical support or production support environment. Demonstrated critical thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate technical proposals, identify gaps, challenge assumptions, and asses downstream impact before implementation. Strong problem-solving capability, able to diagnose complex cross-system issues and drive structured resolution across teams. Intellectual curiosity and continuous learning mindset, staying current with Magento ecosystem updates, emerging AI-driven search trends, analytics evolution, and digital commerce best practices. High degree of adaptability, able to navigate shifting priorities, evolving platform capabilities, and changing business requirements. Proactive approach, consistently seeking opportunities to improve platform performance, integration stability, and digital measurement accuracy.
