JOB OVERVIEW
The Product Manager owns the product strategy and roadmap for the
AI & API
Platform within Kubota Business Solutions (KBS). This role is a critical enabler to other product teams and treats integration as a product—building and scaling a reusable API platform that accelerates delivery across all dealer- and customer-facing solutions and drives AI product enablement by establishing the patterns, guardrails, and shared capabilities that allow teams to deliver AI-powered features safely and consistently. Operating in a complex, multi-affiliate environment, the Product Manager defines the platform's value proposition and measurable outcomes (e.g., faster integrations, increased service reuse, improved reliability, and responsible AI adoption), aligns stakeholders through working groups and governance, and partners with engineering, architecture, security, and data teams to deliver platform capabilities that are adopted by downstream product teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company's policies, procedures and guidelines: Own the
AI & API
Platform vision, guiding principles, and multi-year roadmap, positioning APIs and shared services as a product consumed by multiple teams and affiliates.
AI & API
Platform (Integration as a Product): Define and evolve the API product strategy including service catalog, reusable domain services, shared data contracts, versioning/deprecation policies, and platform standards.
AI & API
Platform (Developer Experience): Drive developer onboarding and usability through documentation, reference implementations, SDKs/templates where applicable, and feedback loops that improve adoption and ease of integration.
AI & API
Platform (Reliability & Operability): Partner with engineering and operations to define SLAs/SLOs, monitoring, incident learnings, and backlog priorities that improve stability, performance, and supportability.
AI Product Enablement:
Define AI enablement strategy and reusable capabilities (e.g., orchestration patterns, shared components, prompt and evaluation conventions, logging/telemetry, and integration approaches) that downstream products can adopt.
Responsible AI & Governance:
Partner with security, legal/compliance, and KBS leadership to define and operationalize Responsible AI guardrails (approved use cases, data classification/handling, model/tooling standards, risk reviews, and human-in-the-loop controls), enabling platform teams to deliver AI capabilities safely and compliantly. Lead cross-functional working groups (API Platform and AI Orchestration) with affiliate representation to align requirements, sequence delivery, and drive adoption. Own intake and prioritization for platform work—balancing impact, urgency, alignment, and feasibility—and communicate decisions and tradeoffs transparently. Define and track platform success metrics (e.g., integration cycle time, reuse rate, adoption, reliability/SLA performance, developer satisfaction, and AI feature enablement/adoption) and drive continuous improvement against targets. Provide executive-ready status updates and roadmap communications to support governance decisions and planning cycles (e.g., Mid-Term Business Plan). Other related duties as assigned by management and/or executive team.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline preferred; in lieu of a degree 10 years of experience required. With a degree, 7+ years of experience in product management, technical program management, platform enablement, or related roles, with demonstrated ownership of roadmap and business outcomes from discovery through launch and iteration. Demonstrated experience productizing AAPIs and integration capabilities (e.g., API gateways, reusable services, shared data contracts, developer experience enablement) in an enterprise environment. Working knowledge of API design and lifecycle practices (versioning, documentation, testing, monitoring, deprecation), and ability to partner effectively with engineers and architects on technical tradeoffs. Experience partnering with security/identity stakeholders on authentication/authorization patterns, risk controls, and secure-by-default standards for shared platforms. Experience building AI enablement capabilities and/or governance (e.g., orchestration patterns, evaluation/monitoring, guardrails, approved use cases) preferred.
