Job Description
Overall Purpose of the Job Responsible for the development of products in accordance with product line or business strategy and customer demand Key Activities and Accountabilities 1. Design and develop products and associated processes in accordance with product line requirements. 2. Manage the various activities associated with ensuring that product is delivered that meets end users needs. 3. Review existing products to optimise and enhance functionality either in response to customer problems or requests or as part of planned product enhancements. 4. Ensure that relevant factors are considered in development process how well the product fits with business/customer needs. 5. Research market to identify competing or potentially competing products and evaluates strengths and gaps. 6. Provide documented plans of incremental improvements and/or development to achieve final product development. 7. Liaise with product line experts, operations and engineering to ensure development plans are achievable within agreed timescales and to product release requirements. 8. Use feedback from internal and external customers as well as quantitative operational data to develop product requirements/enhancements. 9. May liaise with Marketing and Communications to define the go-to-market strategy, product positioning, key benefits and target customer. 10. Analyse potential partner relationships for the product. Job Knowledge and Qualifications 1. Degree qualified or formal technical qualification 2. 10+ years technical experience preferable within relevant product line 3. Previous Team Leader/Supervisory experience
