Job Description
About the Role Crescendo Self Storage Management (CSSM) is a third-party self-storage management company operating a portfolio of 45+ facilities across multiple states. The SEO & Analytics Specialist owns the technical SEO, analytics, and organic performance engine for the portfolio. This is a hands-on, individually owned specialty within a lean, three-person marketing team, working alongside the Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinator. This person is responsible for how the portfolio performs in organic and AI-driven search, for the technical health of the sites that drive that performance, and for building the in-house expertise that reduces our reliance on outside SEO vendors over time. This is not a generalist digital marketing role. It is a focused specialty for someone who wants to go deep on SEO, analytics, and search strategy rather than spread across paid media, email, and social. Selected candidate must reside in the Pacific Time Zone. What You'll Do SEO Strategy and Technical Execution Build and manage SEO strategy across portfolio sites, including on-page optimization and content execution Diagnose and resolve technical SEO issues, including duplicate content, URL structure problems, and crawl or indexation issues Own structured data and schema markup implementation across facility sites Monitor and optimize for AI Overviews, answer engines, and zero-click search behavior (GEO/AEO) Website Management Own any website change that affects SEO structure, including titles, meta descriptions, internal linking, and schema. Routine content updates, such as hours, photos, and minor page edits, are owned by the Marketing Coordinator Advise on site structure and technical implementation when new pages or templates are built Analytics and Reporting Own GA4 and GTM, including tag management, tracking audits, and ongoing QA Monitor Google Search Console and BrightLocal rank tracking, and maintain a consistent reporting cadence Analyze organic performance and translate it into clear reporting for the Marketing Manager and internal stakeholders Content Own SEO-driven content strategy and execution, including blog content and location page copy Close the content delivery gap left by outside vendors by producing and prioritizing content directly Vendor Oversight Manage and evaluate the relationship with outside SEO vendors, including reviewing deliverables against contracted scope Lead the transition of SEO work in-house as this role matures New Facility SEO Setup Lead technical SEO setup for new facility pages as they are added to the portfolio, including indexing, schema, and on-page fundamentals Minimum Requirements 4 to 6 years of digital marketing experience with demonstrated ownership of SEO strategy and execution Hands-on experience with GA4 and GTM, including tag management and tracking audits Experience with technical SEO, including schema markup, structured data, and crawl or indexation troubleshooting Ability to analyze organic performance data and translate it into clear reporting Key Qualifications Strong analytical mindset with the ability to connect SEO and data to business outcomes Comfortable owning ambiguous technical problems independently Clear communicator who can present performance insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Proactive and solutions-oriented, with strong attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred, not required) Experience managing or evaluating outside SEO vendors or agencies Familiarity with multi-location or franchise SEO Self-storage or multi-location marketing experience is a plus Comfort using AI tools to improve workflows and efficiency
