Marketing and social media coordination for Hawai'i's most comprehensive performing and visual arts center, a non-profit organization with a diverse array of performances, events, visual arts exhibits, arts education, and free community programs. The Marketing Manager/Social Media Specialist is a key contributor to the marketing communication team's overall marketing, sales, and media relations efforts. The position's key role is to serve as social media manager to effectively plan and deliver key messaging and institutional branding to target audiences. The position reports directly to the Marketing Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather assets for the strategizing, creation, and execution of social media posts on the MACC's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages, FB event pages, ads and contests/drawings for designated shows.
- Must be able to create promotional videos for upcoming events for use in social media, e-marketing, and the MACC's YouTube channel.
- Post social media content and maintain social media channels and calendars.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics to document social media reach and for grant reporting.
- Assist in maintaining, enhancing, and protecting the institutional brand, values, and culture through all communication channels.
- Monitor and respond as needed to social media comments and direct messaging.
- Create content for multiple institutional communications including website updates, event calendars, media print/digital listings, plus event menus, and other marketing materials on an as-needed basis.
- Coordinate on an as needed basis digital show/event 'press packs' containing marketing results for designated shows/events provided to artist reps day-of-show.
- Coordinate with graphic designers on show/event designs.
- Coordinate production and approvals of external promotion pieces including posters/flyers, and on-site event banners/posters/programs.
- Other responsibilities and duties established as needed for specific events or institutional programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field or 3-5 years' experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, public relations, and/or social media coordination.
- Proficiency in video editing and maintenance of social media outlets including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter, along with familiarity with SEO and Google Analytics.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, editing software (CapCut, Canva, Final Cut Pro, etc.), and Adobe Suite a must.
- Solid organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, managing multiple tasks, internal and external deadlines, and the flexibility to meet changing needs and priorities as they occur.
- Experience with interdepartmental collaboration, coordination, and communication.
- The ability to work some nights and weekends, as needed.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Willingness to participate in assisting with all-staff event needs including fundraisers and free community events.
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional work evenings and weekends.
