Job DescriptionSocial Media Content CreationCreate engaging content for Instagram, LinkedIn, and other Career Center platforms.
Develop reels, short-form videos, graphics, carousels, stories, and other visual content.
Help develop creative ways to promote Career Center events, workshops, career fairs, appointments, and resources.
Create student-friendly content that makes career development feel approachable and relevant.
Capture photos and videos at Career Center events and programs.
Help maintain a consistent voice, visual style, and brand for the Career Center.
Marketing & Campaign DevelopmentAssist with planning social media campaigns around major Career Center initiatives and events.
Create promotional materials such as flyers, digital graphics, event announcements, and email/social media content.
Develop creative campaigns around topics such as internships, resumes, interviewing, networking, LinkedIn, career fairs, and job searching.
Help brainstorm new ways to reach students who may not currently use Career Center services.
Collaborate with Career Center staff to turn program goals and information into engaging student-facing content.
Track engagement, views, reach, and other basic social media metrics.
Identify which types of content perform well and make recommendations for future content.
Student and Front Desk SupportWelcome visitors to the Strommen Center and serve as the first point of contact.
Handle all front desk and administrative duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, etc.
Assist students with Navigate and Handshake, our online career portal.
Assist students with resume and cover letter writing, beginning steps of job and internship searches, and connecting to career planning resources.
Attend regular supervisor check-ins and staff meetings as able.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace. This includes wiping down desks, taking out trash etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Work study eligible.
Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable using social media platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Facebook.
Basic experience creating content using tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut, or similar design and video editing software.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Friendly, professional, and customer service-oriented with the ability to interact positively with students, faculty, staff, employers, and guests.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Reliable, responsible, and able to maintain confidentiality when working with student information.
Comfortable learning and using technology platforms such as Handshake, Navigate, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
