Job Description

Position Overview:
The Fayetteville Marksmen are seeking highly motivated, creative, and fast-on-their-feet interns to join our Game Day Production & Social Media team. This internship is a premier opportunity for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on, live-action experience in sports photography, videography, and real-time social media execution within the fast-paced world of the SPHL. Interns will work directly at the arena during home games to capture the energy of Marksmen hockey and tell the story of the game as it happens. This position will be hired over the coming months and will begin in October for the 2026-27 season. Finalists will be contacted for interviews.
Goals:
Master Live Sports Content:
Learn to capture high-quality media under the fast-paced, unpredictable conditions of a live hockey game. Build a
Dynamic Portfolio:
Develop a robust portfolio of real-world sports photography, short-form video reels, and real-time social media campaigns.
Execute Under Pressure:
Gain experience working in a high-energy, live-event production environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Live Game Coverage:
Capture high-quality action shots, fan reactions, behind-the-scenes moments, and promotional events during home games.
Real-Time Social Media Execution:
Post live updates, scores, and highlight clips to platforms like Instagram, X (Twitter), and TikTok during the game.
Short-Form Video Creation:
Shoot, edit, and publish engaging short-form video content (Reels/TikToks) on-site for immediate fan engagement.
Pre- and Post-Game Content:
Assist in capturing arrivals, warm-ups, and post-game player or coach interviews.
Media Management:
Efficiently organize, tag, and upload raw photo and video files immediately following the conclusion of each game for team archiving. Collaborate on
Game Themes:
Work closely with the marketing and in-arena production staff to ensure social media coverage aligns with the night's promotional themes. Other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Team.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and Microsoft Office Proficiency with DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, mobile video equipment, and mobile editing apps (CapCut, Lightroom Mobile, Adobe Premiere Rush) Deep knowledge of current social media trends, formats, and best practices (specifically Instagram Stories/Reels and TikTok) Self-motivated and willing to take initiative Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays according to the Fayetteville Marksmen home game schedule Exceptional speed, adaptability, and the ability to meet instant deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. A strong passion for sports and visual storytelling; familiarity with hockey rules and game flow is a major plus.
Compensation:
This is a non-paid internship. If an intern needs school credit, they can receive hours.
