About GPJAC:
Greater Port Jefferson Arts Council, Inc. (GPJAC) is a New York 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting and promoting the arts in the Port Jefferson area. Our mission is to enrich the community through diverse artistic and cultural experiences.
Position Summary:
GPJAC is seeking a motivated student intern to assist in updating and maintaining our website and social media platforms. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for the arts, community engagement, and digital communications.
Key Responsibilities:
Update and maintain GPJAC's website content (WordPress or other platform) Draft and schedule social media posts (, Instagram, etc.) Create and edit graphics or images for online use Monitor engagement and suggest content strategies Assist with e-newsletters and online event promotion
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in SUNY college, or Stony Brook University university (preferably studying communications, media, graphic design, marketing, or related field) Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe, etc.) Basic knowledge of website platforms such as WordPress Strong written communication and organizational skills Interest in the arts and community-based nonprofits
