Primarily remote with occasional in-person studio visits in West Palm Beach Position Overview A West Palm Beach-based contemporary visual artist is seeking a creative and dependable part-time assistant to help document an evolving artistic practice and develop a consistent, thoughtful social media presence. The ideal candidate will be able to take raw studio footage, photographs, conversations, and ideas and turn them into polished short-form videos, social media posts, and captions. This position is best suited for someone with strong content creation, video editing, writing, and storytelling skills who is interested in art, culture, design, or creative communications. This is not a high-volume social media position focused on posting every day. The priority is developing quality content that clearly communicates the artist's process, work, and story over time. About the Artist The artist's work explores the relationship between digital design, physical movement, technology, disability, control, and uncertainty. The creative process includes painting, printing, dimensional work, customized tools, and wheelchair-driven movement. The artist is actively developing new work and preparing for upcoming gallery, exhibition, and public presentation opportunities. Responsibilities Learn the artist's background, creative process, body of work, and communication goals Review and organize raw studio photographs and video footage Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts Draft captions and social media copy in the artist's voice Create and maintain a manageable monthly content calendar Schedule and publish approved content Identify meaningful stories and moments from the artist's studio practice Conduct brief recorded conversations or interviews with the artist to gather content Occasionally visit the West Palm Beach studio to capture photographs and video Document works in progress, completed pieces, tools, experiments, and studio activity Track basic engagement and identify which types of content perform best Assist with light research related to art publications, exhibitions, organizations, and promotional opportunities Help maintain consistency between the artist's website, social media, biography, and public-facing materials Expected Monthly Deliverables Monthly workload will vary depending on the artist's production schedule, but the role will generally include: Four to six edited short-form videos Four to six additional social media posts One monthly content calendar One to two studio documentation sessions Caption writing and basic publishing support Brief monthly engagement and performance notes Quality and consistency are more important than daily posting. Qualifications Experience creating social media content for a business, artist, creative professional, nonprofit, student organization, or personal brand Strong short-form video editing skills Strong writing, interviewing, and storytelling abilities Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and social media content formats Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, or similar tools Ability to work independently and manage deadlines Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Interest in contemporary art, culture, media, design, or creative storytelling Ability to communicate stories involving disability thoughtfully and without relying on generic inspirational language Reliable transportation for occasional studio visits in West Palm Beach Experience in photography, videography, journalism, public relations, art history, studio art, communications, or digital marketing is preferred but not required. Current college students, graduate students, recent graduates, freelancers, and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply.
