The Senior Social Media Specialist will oversee global paid social initiatives, with a primary focus on LinkedIn, while partnering closely with internal marketing teams and an external media agency. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of hands-on paid social or performance marketing experience, strong expertise in LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and proven experience managing agency partnerships. Candidates with experience in asset management, wealth management, financial services, or other highly regulated industries will be strongly prioritized. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity (with the potential for extension). This opportunity pays between $64-$74/hour (depending on experience). This role follows a hybrid schedule requiring three days per week onsite in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, execution, optimization, and reporting of global paid social campaigns, with a primary focus on LinkedIn. Serve as the internal LinkedIn paid social subject matter expert, providing guidance on campaign structure, audience targeting, ad formats, conversion strategies, and optimization. Manage the external media agency, reviewing campaign recommendations, media plans, targeting strategies, pacing, execution quality, and overall performance. Partner with internal marketing stakeholders to translate business objectives into effective paid social strategies, campaign briefs, audience plans, and measurement approaches. Analyze campaign performance and proactively recommend adjustments to budgets, bids, audiences, creative, messaging, and campaign structure to drive improved results. Develop and evaluate test-and-learn initiatives across audiences, creative formats, messaging, lead generation, and campaign objectives. Translate platform and agency reporting into clear performance insights, trends, and actionable recommendations while maintaining strong tracking and campaign-quality standards. Collaborate with marketing, creative, analytics, compliance, and regional teams to align paid social activity with broader marketing initiatives and strengthen global execution practices.
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in paid social, performance marketing, digital media, or a related field. Advanced, hands-on experience with LinkedIn Campaign Manager, including campaign development, launch, optimization, targeting, and reporting. Experience within asset management, wealth management, financial services, institutional marketing, or another regulated industry is strongly preferred. Proven experience managing external media agencies, including evaluating campaign strategies, execution, recommendations, and performance. Experience supporting complex paid social campaigns across multiple markets, audiences, business lines, or stakeholder groups. Strong understanding of paid social performance metrics, campaign tracking, conversion measurement, lead generation, and reporting. Familiarity with additional platforms such as Meta, X, Reddit, YouTube, or similar paid social channels is a plus. Strong analytical, communication, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, challenge existing approaches, collaborate effectively, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
