Unpaid, with perks (see below) Reports to: Robin Vickers Batzdorf About the Oakland Spiders The Oakland Spiders are the Bay Area's professional ultimate frisbee team in the Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA). We're growing our fanbase, our youth programs and our presence in the community, and social media is how most fans find us first. The Role We're looking for a creative, reliable Social Media Intern to help tell the Spiders' story on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X/Threads. You'll create content, keep our channels posting consistently and talk with our fans. You'll help build our presence during the off-season, then cover every home game from the sideline once the season starts. What You'll Do Shoot and edit short-form video, photos and graphics for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X/Threads Capture live content at every home game: highlights, player moments, crowd energy and behind-the-scenes Write captions and copy that match the Spiders' voice Schedule and publish posts on a consistent content calendar Reply to comments and DMs and engage with fans, players and the wider ultimate community Pitch new content ideas and trends to Robin What We're Looking For Some experience running social accounts (personal, club, school or creator accounts all count) Strong smartphone video and photo skills Comfort with editing tools like CapCut, Premiere or similar Graphic design basics (Canva or similar) Sharp, fun writing and a feel for each platform's style Reliable, self-directed and good at hitting deadlines while working remotely Available for every Spiders home game during the season A smartphone capable of high-quality photo and video (no other equipment needed) How Success Is Measured Consistent, on-schedule posting across all platforms throughout the off-season and the season.
