General Summary:
The Master Scheduler - OEM Logistics & Shipping is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing OEM production shipping schedules to ensure consistent on-time delivery and alignment with customer requirements. This role owns delivery performance, finished goods inventory control, and customer communication requirements (truck scheduling, ASNs, etc.), while serving as the primary point of contact for OEM customers regarding delivery status, schedule changes, etc. The position ensures proactive communication, effective inventory management, and cross-functional coordination to maintain schedule integrity and customer satisfaction.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Production Planning, Schedule Management & On-Time Delivery o Develop and manage the Master Shipping Schedule with visibility for next 7 shipping days o Plan, coordinate, and schedule customer trucks to pick up shipments at outside supplier locations o Closely monitor finished good inventory at each supplier and ensure 2 weeks of inventory o Own on-time delivery (OTD) performance and customer scorecard management o Adjust schedules to respond to disruptions and demand changes o Identify risks and implement recovery plans Supplier & Customer Communication & Delivery Coordination o Act as primary contact for both suppliers & customers regarding shipping schedules o Communicate /Escalate delays, risks, and recovery plans o Maintain strong Supplier & customer relationships Inventory Management & Control o Manage inventory levels to support on-time delivery requirements o Monitor finished goods inventory and on-time shipping performance o Oversee consigned inventory accuracy o Implement Kanban and inventory control systems o Lead inventory reconciliation efforts Capacity & Constraint Management o Monitor capacity across supply chain and identify risks if any that are present o Balance workloads and resolve constraints o Support long-term capacity planning Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement o Track OTD, schedule adherence, and inventory metrics o Lead root cause analysis for delivery issues o Drive continuous improvement initiatives Systems & Cross-Functional Coordination o Maintain ERP/MRP scheduling parameters o Collaborate with purchasing, production, and logistics o Align schedules with customer demand
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
Strong knowledge of machining and manufacturing operations Ownership of on-time delivery performance Experience with scheduling and inventory management Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems Strong communication with customers and internal teams Analytical and problem-solving skills Advanced Excel skills Ability to manage multiple priorities
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Working Conditions:
Master Scheduler - OEM Logistics & Shipping will reside in the office, however, could be in the plant from time to time. Must be able to adhere to conditions of the plant.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 3-7 years scheduling experience in OEM or machining environment ERP/MRP system experience required Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
