Job Description
Job Summary American Heavy Plates is a private equity backed steel plate rolling mill and processing center. Our unique just-in-time model, combined with our integration of plate rolling, processing, and heat treating, allows us to provide a complete supply chain solution to customers across North America. We are hiring a Materials Handler to assist in our rapid growth. This position will load and process orders for shipment to our customers as well as receive, process, and deliver incoming orders. The position offers room for growth in the logistics field with gained experience and responsibility. General Responsibilities Operate ground controlled overhead cranes to lift, move and position steel. Loads outgoing shipments onto trucks. May be required to use forklift or other material handling equipment. Perform staging and inspection of materials before shipping. Verify orders for completeness and possible damage. Log shipments, completes and forwards paperwork in a timely manner, as assigned. Accepts incoming shipments upon arrival and transfer to appropriate department or location. Data entry Maintains general order and cleanliness of work area. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Skills Manufacturing experience a plus Basic computer and math skills Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to organize work and take initiative. Process logic, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills
Job Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalentExperience:
6 months - 1 year of related experience and/or training preferred Physical Demands Ability to work in a manufacturing facility. Work Environment Manufacturing facilityWork Schedule Dayshift:
