In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing materials handling operations, operating various types of heavy equipment including forklifts, and ensuring the safe and accurate movement of goods throughout the warehouse. Your expertise will help streamline warehouse distribution processes, support shipping and receiving activities, and maintain a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA standards. Duties Safely operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, move, and store materials within the warehouse. Perform order picking using various equipment including pickers to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. Assist with shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation. Maintain inventory accuracy through proper materials handling, storage, and documentation within the warehouse management system (WMS). Conduct routine equipment repairs or report maintenance needs promptly to ensure optimal operation of all machinery. Support warehouse management by organizing stock locations, performing cycle counts, and ensuring compliance with safety standards such as OSHA regulations. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow processes and improve overall warehouse distribution efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse environment. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures. Mechanical aptitude with basic repair skills for equipment maintenance. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and order processing. Excellent physical stamina for heavy lifting, load & unload activities, and long periods of standing or walking.
