Founded locally in 1911, the Northern California & Northern Nevada affiliate of Volunteers of America (VOA-NCNN) is one of the largest providers of social services in the region, operating more than 40 programs including housing, employment services, substance abuse, and recovery services to families, individuals, veterans, seniors, and youth. In fact, VOA-NCNN provides shelter or housing to over 4,000 men, women, and children every night.

PROGRAM AND LOCATION
VOA-NCNN, a Certified Great Place to Work, is recruiting for a full-time Program Support Specialist for our Singles Program at the Mather Community Campus. Full-time employees (working 30 or more hours a week) are eligible for a benefits package that includes paid holidays, vacation, sick pay, health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance coverage.
Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides direct support to the Program Manager, coordinates client intake and referrals, and performs clerical duties for the Mather Community Campus. In addition, this position will have responsibility for compiling data for case management, software management, coordinating daily activities of all clerical needs, meeting arrangements, and interaction with outside services providers including but not limited to Sacramento Steps Forward, various county departments, SLEs, residential treatment facilities, and other referral services as identified based on client needs
OBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES
A. Responsible for performing daily work requirements to achieve established objectives of the department. 1. Coordinate client intake and referral process, following up with program applicants, and scheduling in-person screening appointments. 2. Prepare monthly billing reports for the County, including internal spreadsheets entries. 3. Set up and maintain client records, including move-ins and move-outs, in databases including but not limited to Credible, HMIS and OneSite. Enter client information and upload required documents into HMIS. 4. Ensure unit readiness in partnership with support and maintenance staff. 5. Update spreadsheet and distribute weekly occupancy reports to County, VOA COO, and Program Manager. 6. Disseminate monthly health and safety materials, schedule drills, and track staff compliance. 7. Provide required documentation for client status update to Sacramento County. 8. Perform clerical activities including reception duties and answering telephone. 9. Establish and maintain files. 10. Maintain office equipment and arrange for repair when necessary. 11. Order supplies as needed. 12. Participate in VOA and outside training. 13. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EQUIVALENT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
This position requires a high school diploma. Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn and utilize various databases. Prior experience using Credible, HMIS is preferred. The position requires demonstrated ability in record keeping, strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to work independently while being able to work as a team member. Must have a basic understanding of severe mental health, physical health, and substance use issues and symptoms. It requires general knowledge of issues and challenges unique to homelessness, substance abuse, mental health, young adults, minorities, and people with disabilities. Ability to provide a kind and welcoming environment to all visitors and a professional demeanor. Experience in social service programs is preferred. Valid California driver's license and ability to meet the organization's insurance carrier guidelines are required. Must pass all required background clearances in accordance with agency, County, State, and federal standards. CPR/First Aid certification is required within 90 days of employment. Completion and maintenance of all required training and health clearances.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and stoop throughout the workday Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds Ability to travel between campus and community locations as needed Able to climb stairs as required
Pay Range:
USD $25.00 - USD $25.00 /Hr.
