Maître d' / Lead Host Front of House Leadership | PM Service Sale Pepe Pizzeria e Cucina - Lahaina, HI Sale Pepe Pizzeria e Cucina is a Lahaina-family-owned Italian restaurant rooted in European service standards with a fast, organized NYC-style pace. We are seeking two experienced front-of-house professionals to join our team as Maître d' / Lead Hosts . This is a hands-on hosting role with leadership responsibility . You will be at the host stand managing reservations, seating, and guest flow while also serving as the point person for the dining room during evening service. Job Summary The Maître d' / Lead Host is responsible for owning the front door, setting the tone of the dining room, and supporting the front-of-house team throughout PM service. This role includes lead host duties, real-time decision-making, and nightly closing responsibility. Responsibilities Serve as the primary host during PM service Manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, and table pacing Greet and welcome guests while maintaining control of the door and flow of the room Communicate wait times and seating decisions clearly and professionally Support hosts and servers during service to maintain smooth pacing Step in to resolve guest concerns calmly and effectively Communicate with kitchen and service staff to align timing and expectations Act as the point person for front-of-house staff during PM shifts Lead nightly front-of-house close and ensure all sections and workspaces are reset properly Requirements Previous experience as a host, lead host, or front-of-house lead required Strong guest service and communication skills Comfort making decisions in a fast-paced environment Experience with Resy or similar reservation systems preferred Calm, organized, and professional under pressure Ability to lead peers with clarity and respect Evening and closing availability required Why Sale Pepe Be part of Lahaina's rebuilding and community return Work in a professional, respectful restaurant environment Clear standards, real responsibility, and trust in your judgment European-inspired service with high ownership and accountability Job Type Part-time In person To Apply Please submit your resume and a brief note describing your hosting experience and comfort leading a dining room during busy service.
