Job Description
Adcorp Signs, Inc. is a small woman owned business that has been serving the industry since 1988. We are looking for dedicated, energetic person that pays attention to detail and strives to be a problem solver, who is seeking a career in a low key, friendly workplace in rural Harford County, Maryland. Applicants must have a driver's license and access to a vehicle for their daily commute. A high school diploma or GED is required. College is recommended, but not a requirement. Applicants shall be trained to use specialized graphic software programs to create sign layouts and to operate engraving machines for high volume projects. Applicants must have experience with Adobe Illustrator and must be proficient in operating a computer using the current and past versions of Microsoft Windows. Applicants must also be familiar with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Reader and be able to use email. Other duties required will be weeding computer cut vinyl, applying vinyl to sign blanks, quality control, making deliveries and occasionally helping out with installations on Adcorp's job sites. Applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds and take measurements with a ruler and tape measure. Sweeping/ vacuuming up their work area, light weekly cleaning and trash take out is also required. Hours are full time from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, including a 1/2 hour of unpaid time for lunch. Weekend work is rare and only occurs when there are mandatory deadlines or a rush job from our customers. Although Adcorp strives to avoid working at night, weekends and overtime hours, we expect our employees to work extra hours, if need be, to complete an important project. There will be no smoking inside the shop and can only take place outside the shop. Shirt, pants, shorts and closed toe shoes are required for the company dress code. Hearing, eye protection and safety gear will be available for all employees. After 6 months of employment employees shall receive 2 weeks of paid vacation, 3 paid sick days and 2 unpaid sick days. A 401 K shall be available at the start of employment. Owner will pay 50% towards the monthly premium for a private health insurance policy, purchased by the employee. Adcorp does not offer in-house health insurance plans. Adcorp has been in business for 35 years and is located on a residential property in rural White Hall, Maryland. Training will start at 8 AM and run to 4:30 PM until Adcorp's manager is satisfied and the employee has received the proper amount of instruction. Once the initial training has been completed employees can request earlier hours, if they have family obligations. Employees may be required to work alone for several hours during the morning, if they choose to come in earlier than 8 AM.
