Retail•Landscape Supply (Residential, Commercial) The Opportunity You will serve as a vital technical expert in our service department, ensuring that critical outdoor power equipment remains operational for our diverse clientele. This role allows you to take ownership of complex repairs while working within a supportive, family-oriented environment that values your mechanical expertise. Your work directly impacts the productivity of local commercial landscapers and the satisfaction of residential homeowners throughout the region. How You Will Make an Impact Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues on a variety of 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines to ensure rapid equipment turnaround. Rebuild engines and service fuel systems for leading brands such as Stihl, Toro, and Husqvarna to meet manufacturer standards. Execute routine maintenance schedules, including oil changes and blade replacements, to prevent equipment downtime. Document all diagnostic findings and parts requirements accurately to maintain transparency within the service department. Collaborate with the Service Writer to streamline repair timelines and manage customer expectations effectively. Maintain a safe and organized workspace by following strict dealership safety protocols and environmental standards. Provide technical explanations to customers as needed to help them understand necessary repairs and preventative care. Required Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a small engine mechanic. Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing both 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting for outdoor power equipment. High School Diploma or GED. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, hands-on shop environment. Preferred Qualifications & Experience Demonstrated experience working with commercial-grade landscaping equipment. Familiarity with specific engine brands including Briggs & Stratton, Honda, Kohler, and Kawasaki. Ownership of basic mechanical tools for daily shop use.
