Job Description Summary This position performs repairs and maintenance on plant facilities, machinery, and equipment, with a focus on mechanical systems, fabrication, and welding. Responsibilities include conducting routine, preventive, and corrective inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues, minimizing downtime and supporting reliable plant operations. The role requires the use of hand and power tools to test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment Job Description Demonstrates proper use of power tools, including drills, impact tools, grinders, tachometers, calipers, Hilti drills, strobe lights, and pipe threaders, as well as all required hand tools per the provided tool list. Maintains proper housekeeping standards to ensure safe and clean conditions in all assigned work areas. Demonstrates and complies with all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) policies and procedures. Identifies potential hazards and follows appropriate safety procedures for each task performed. Possesses basic computer skills, including SAP, email, PDF viewing/editing, and spreadsheet use. Communicates effectively through email and maintains clear, accurate, and timely records in the maintenance logbook. Demonstrates basic knowledge of welding using MIG and TIG processes. Demonstrates basic knowledge of electrical systems and safety. Possesses basic mathematical skills required for maintenance tasks. Maintains all responsibilities associated with Level 1 classification.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications Education/ Certifications:
(Required & Preferred) High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
Skills and Experience:
Experience performing maintenance in a manufacturing environment, specifically food processing highly preferred. Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral. (Requirement may vary by location). Ability to perform basic math functions, required
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Applicability of job levels varies by location and is determined by the plant skills matrix.
Physical Environment/Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature Exposure to manufacturing environments to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies. Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures. Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment. Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.   • 20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation.
