This position's responsibility, under the direction of the Maintenance Director, is to assist in the successfully operation of the maintenance department following District procedures and standards and under required safety conditions.SALARY RANGE

1. High school diploma or GED 2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals 3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals 4. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form 5. Demonstrate integrity, loyalty and professionalism 6. No direct reportsRESPONSIBILITIES
1. Primary duties will include mowing of district lawns as directed by supervisor during the season 2. Service all grounds equipment, gas, diesel, check oil, grease etc. 3. Out of season duties will include assisting maintenance III and maintenance II in their daily duties 4. Check needed or requested repairs that are assigned through the OS ticket system 5. Report to maintenance shop for additional assignments for the day 6. Assist with deliveries 7. Clean shop, shop offices and shop restrooms as needed or directed by supervisor 8. Will serve as a substitute custodian if directed by supervisor 9. Fulfill other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisorSEASONAL DUTIES
1. Assist Maintenance II and III with snow removal and de-icing of all sidewalks, landings, entryways, and parking lots throughout the district 2. Assist Maintenance II and III in watering all lawn and playfield areas 3. Service all grounds equipment and report and malfunctions of equipment to supervisor or district mechanic 4. Operate spraying equipment under supervision 5. Assist Maintenance II and III with lining, dragging, and watering infields of all playing fields 6. Assist Maintenance II and III with policing parking lots and grounds for trash and any other duties as directed pertaining to grounds care 7. Fulfill other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisorWORKING CONDITIONS
Required to stand and walk for prolonged periods; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; carry, push, stoop, reach and ability to handle and perform fingering functions. Required to shift tasks and priorities; experience frequent interruptions; requires flexibility and adaptability; perform repetitive tasks; requires individual initiative and teamwork; ability to communicate with students and staff. The Maintenance I position's salary shall follow under the PSE classified pay schedule under this job title for all duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in outside weather conditions and be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, temperature fluctuations, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals commonly used in instruction and/or cleaning. It may be expected that the individual could be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials during the course of their duties. The employee may be exposed to infectious disease as carried by students. The employee may be required to travel in school owned or leased vehicles while supervising and assisting students.
