Mechanic with tools

Responsibilities Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges to assemble, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, CAD models (including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo), and electrical schematics to facilitate accurate assembly and troubleshooting. Perform mechanical fabrication tasks including welding, soldering, machining (CNC), and equipment repair to support manufacturing operations. Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures using structured problem-solving techniques to identify issues and implement corrective actions. Assist with project scheduling by coordinating tasks related to mechanical design, assembly, and maintenance activities to meet deadlines efficiently. Apply knowledge of ASME codes & standards and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations. Support preventive maintenance programs by inspecting machinery, replacing worn components, and ensuring optimal operation of all mechanical systems. Collaborate with engineering teams on mechanical design improvements using CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo for new product development or process enhancements. Skills Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including drafting, schematics interpretation, and CAD modeling (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo). Experience with CNC machining, welding (including safety standards), soldering, fabrication techniques, and equipment repair. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), LabVIEW software for automation testing and control systems. Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. Familiarity with project scheduling methodologies to coordinate multiple tasks seamlessly. Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, maintenance routines, and quality standards like ASME codes & standards. Excellent math skills for precise measurements and calculations related to mechanical design and fabrication. Ability to read technical drawings including schematics for electrical systems integrated within mechanical assemblies.
